Gallery Associate

Overview:
Elder Gallery of Contemporary Art looking for an enthusiastic, outside-the-box thinker with strong social media skills who desires a flexible schedule and is excited about growing Charlotte’s cultural community. We have been named Charlotte’s Most Relevant Art Gallery and Best Art Gallery by Charlotte Magazine for four years in a row. We represent established and emerging artists and the gallery has set itself apart as a space that welcomes diverse thought, celebrates differences, and creates community. We create programs, exhibitions, and experiences that use artwork to encourage conversation and critical thinking. We also place artwork in homes, businesses, non-profits, and public locations, consult with individuals, designers, and corporate clients.

Basics:
• This is a part-time sales associate position
• Must be available on Saturdays
• Must be available for exhibitions and special events

Responsibilities:
• Creating and implementing social media content
• Maintaining and updating gallery’s online presence
• Welcoming and interacting with customers in the gallery, over the phone and via email
• Assisting with installation and de-installation
• Learning about gallery artists and their body of work in order to educate clients
• Taking touchless payments and via computer/iPad
• Coordinating shipment and delivery of artwork
• Various other tasks as necessary

Qualifications:
• Social media & website design skills
• High energy with friendly, positive attitude
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn online sales platforms
• Strong memory is a plus
• Some experience in the arts is a plus
