A new Sycamore Brewing location is now open inside Charlotte Douglas International Airport, according to a statement Friday from hospitality operator HMS Host.

What to expect: The 1,828-square-foot space is located in Concourse E. It’s open 6am-10pm daily. Breakfast is served until 10am.

  • Like any good airport restaurant, there’s an expansive wrap-around bar as its focal point.

Menu: Expect your favorite brews like Mountain Candy and Juiciness, plus wine and a variety of appetizers, pizza, salads, handhelds and entrée selections from HMSHost.

  • Dishes include the “Uptown Burger” with an impossible burger patty, veggie mozzarella and kale slaw, and the CLT Chop Salad with bacon, avocado, roasted corn and hard cooked egg.

What they’re saying: “Since we first opened for business eight years ago, we have grown an exponential amount with 2022 on pace to nearly double 2020 retail distribution sales,” Sycamore Brewing’s co-owner Sarah Taylor Brigham says in the statement. “With this earned success, we decided it was the right time to take on a new endeavor at the airport and we look forward to seeing how this fun concept will further serve our Charlotte community and travelers, too, with good times, great beer, and now great food.”

The big picture: Sycamore joins a growing number of local breweries at Charlotte’s airport. Some others include NoDa, Olde Mecklenburg and Wicked Weed.

What’s next: Sycamore’s original brewery on Hawkins Street is now just a pile of dirt as it moves into a much larger two-story space in a new 16-story South End tower next-door in 2023.
