Preschool Floater Teacher
Overview:
Charlotte Latin School is hiring a part-time Nest Afternoon Floater beginning in early November 2022. The Nest is open from 7:15 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Hours for this position are flexible. The start time could be anytime between 12:00-2:00 p.m. The ending time can be between 5:00-5:45 p.m. The floater will be based in the four-year-old classroom, but also help in other rooms, especially with the infants.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Meet the individual needs of the children
• Interact with children to support learning through play
• Provide compassionate care in the areas of feeding, diapering, toilet training, etc.
• Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
• Participate in staff and training meetings
• Complete annual required training hours as prescribed by the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education
• Comply with school policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as needed
Education and experience:
• Completion of NC Early Childhood Credential (EDU 119) preferred
• One year of teaching experience preferred
Ongoing requirements:
• State and Federal Background checks are required at time of hire and every five years
• Annual Health Questionnaire (required by NC DCDEE)
• Health and safety training upon hire
• Education documentation submitted to the NC Division of Child Development
