Advancement Relationship Specialist

A Leroy Springs brand, the Anne Springs Close Greenway opened to the public in 1995 and is a 2,100-acre nature preserve connecting hundreds of thousands of people each year to nature through affordable, low-impact recreation opportunities.
Overview:
The Advancement Relationship Specialist works in collaboration with staff to help execute the planning and coordination of fundraising events, and cultivate donor relationships to support Greenway programming and events. The Relationship Specialist will manage the logistics related to corporate partner and donor stewardship for Greenway fundraising events, related affinity groups, and select Greenway public programming.
Key functions:
• Collaborate closely with Sr. Advancement Manager to achieve annual fundraising goals
• Helps to manage a portfolio of individual, corporate and foundation supporters, targeting annual donations at the $500 level and above (Friends of the Greenway)
• Works with Sr. Advancement Manager to plan and direct all activities, meetings, recruitment events with regard to affinity groups, as well as annual signature fundraising events with the support of staff
• Plan and implement the Greenway’s major fundraising events, The Green Gala, The Taste of Fort Mill, and The Colonel’s Club Boil & Brew, providing logistical and on-site support for vendors, volunteers, corporate partners, and staff
• Coordinate all VIP and donor events hosted by the department including Ribbon cuttings for new amenities, Friends of the Greenway stewardship events
• Develop a fluent understanding of the Anne Springs Close Greenway’s programs. Support the mission by participating in Greenway sponsored programs and events on a regular basis
• Coordinate stewardship opportunities for enhanced visibility for corporate partners and assist in the fulfillment of corporate partner programs
• Represent the Greenway at public events and functions and in applicable community and professional networks
• Maintain a customer service demeanor at all times. Responds to donors with the appropriate level of urgency. Ask questions to identify donor’s needs or expectations in a pleasant and respectful manner. In completing tasks, continually consider the impact of those actions on the donor, and is flexible to accommodate donor’s needs
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Excellent verbal, written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Must be a detail and goal-oriented, enthusiastic individual able to exercise independent judgment in completing tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
• Demonstrated organizational skills; Ability to be flexible and balance competing priorities
• Availability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
Education and experience requirements:
• Demonstrated success (2-5 years) in special event management
• Experience working with and managing relationships
• Experience managing a committee of community volunteers, including board members and high level donors, involved in the planning process of fundraising events
Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience in special events or comparable sales or business development experience and/or equivalent prior experience in working with special events planning; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings when appropriate
