Job summary:
Charlotte Country Day School, an independent coeducational day school located in Charlotte, NC, is currently recruiting for the following coaching positions: 1) assistant junior varsity volleyball coach, 2) 7 th Grade Head Coach, and 3) 7 th Grade Assistant Coach for the Fall 2022 volleyball season. This is a part- time, seasonal position beginning Monday, August 1, 2022, and ending in late October. The daily work schedule will vary slightly according to specific team practice and competition schedules but will generally be focused on a 3-6 p.m. time slot, Monday-Friday. Weekend work is occasionally required.

Essential functions:
• Assists the head coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport
• Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the head coach
• Assesses player’s skills, monitors players during competition and practice, and keeps the head Volleyball coach informed of the athletic performance of students
• Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury
• Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators
• Participates in special activities to include parent’s night and end-of-season team gathering
• Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Head Volleyball Coach, Athletic Director, & Head of School or other appropriate administrator
• Supervision and instruction of student-athletes during all team activities
• Maintenance and inventory of team equipment and apparel
• Regular communication with team parents and athletics program staff regarding team activities
• Attendance at required team and interscholastic athletics program meetings
• Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes
• Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes
• Compliance with all Charlotte Country Day School, Charlotte Independent Schools Athletic Association, and North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association policies and procedures

Qualifications:
Successful candidates must be available for all practices and competitions during the coaching season.  Experience coaching at some level is preferred, but not required. Additionally, candidates must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check and must possess or obtain prior to the start of their season current First Aid and CPR certification.
