Basic functions:
Use accounting skills to process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and post other financial transactions in the general ledger. Work with Retail departments to record sales and other activity, and process month-end transactions.
Essential functions:
• Work closely with Retail departments to provide support related to recording sale transactions, inventory controls, and other retail activities
• Record daily cash receipts for contributions and other income
• Process accounts payable accurately and timely ensuring that vendor discounts are taken advantage of where appropriate
• Post withdrawals from the operating account, i.e., wire transfers, auto drafts, etc.
• Assist with account reconciliation process on monthly basis
• Assist with month-end process by preparing and completing assigned journal entries
• Prepare monthly sales & use tax and prepared food & beverage returns
• Ensure compliance with internal fiscal control procedures throughout invoice entry and payment processing
• Work with Internal and External Customers to resolve invoicing discrepancies
• Maintain vendor files and set-up checklist to ensure that all information regarding a vendor is submitted to assist with annual 1099 filings and Workers Comp audit
• Other tasks/special projects as assigned by Accounting Manager or VP of Finance
Required knowledge, skills, abilities, and education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or Associates degree with relevant work experience
• At least 2 – 3 years of accounting experience
• Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel
• Must have excellent attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize workload
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to identify and solve problems
• Excellent organization and record-keeping skills
• Strong mathematical skills
Physical requirements:
• Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods of time
• Ability to move around the office frequently to interact with various staff members
• Ability to read documents and correspondence
