Chicago-based seafood restaurant, Brown Bag Seafood Co., is making waves in Charlotte’s food scene by opening not one, but two new franchises: one in the Lowe’s Global Technology Center in South End and another on Tryon Street at the Ally Charlotte Center in Uptown.
Why it matters: The franchise offers seafood that’s healthy and affordable, without having to go to a white-tablecloth restaurant.
- “Charlotte is a vibrant, growing city, and we think we can really add something new and unique to its great food scene and culture,” Brown Bag’s president and COO Zach Flanzman said in a statement.
What to expect: The menu will have a wide variety of seafood including grilled salmon, shrimp and a rotating daily catch. There will also be an option for guests to make their own “creative builds” for items like tacos, salads, sandwiches and grain/veggie bowls.
- A few menu standout dishes are the lobster roll with truffle parmesan tots and the fish & chips which come with a side of made-from-scratch New England clam chowder.
Not a fish fan? That’s okay, the menu has options for you too. Seafood can be swapped out for a chicken, vegetarian or vegan substitute.
Details: The Uptown and South End locations are currently under construction, but both will have indoor and outdoor seating options and be open for lunch and dinner.
