Digi-Bridge works to bridge the digital divide in Charlotte by providing innovative, hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) out-of-school-time programs for K-8th grade scholars and advocating for digital equity through community action. Digi-Bridge has provided K-8 scholars throughout Mecklenburg County with STEAM learning experiences, serving more than 15,000 students and 30 partner schools since 2014.

Job summary:
The Program Manager will join the program team led by the Program Director and composed of additional Program Managers to lead specific Digi-Bridge STEAM programs. This position will be responsible for the following outcomes:
• Program/project management of Digi-Bridge out-of-school-time programs
• Program staff satisfaction
• Replicable operations within programs
• Supporting the programmatic growth and expansion outlined in our newly adopted strategic plan

Digi-Bridge’s newest Program Manager will oversee any of the following programs:
• School-based STEAMLab program
• Competition Robotics program
• Curriculum development as it relates to the above programs
• Special projects

This position will require in-person work at various locations and many functions may not be performed remotely. This position reports to the Program Director. This position must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to starting the position. Due to the out-of-school-time nature of our programs, frequent non-traditional hours may be required of you for program implementation and observation including some evening and/or weekend commitments.


Program offerings:
• Digi-Bridge’s premier after school-based program, STEAMLab, matches students to opportunities to explore, tinker and create through out of school time hands-on STEAM based instruction. ● In 2019, Digi-Bridge launched a multi-site programming and robotics initiative using FIRST LEGO League framework in partnership with several Title 1 schools and community initiatives. ● Digi-Bridge’s work extends well past four walls and deep into communities to meet students where they are. We work with community partners to expose students to STEAM topics through after school clubs, neighborhood initiatives, summer camps and more.
• STEAMKits have been successful throughout the pandemic and continue to reach students and partners through individual material kits paired with virtual or printed instruction.

Curriculum design:
Digi-Bridge develops its own curriculum called “Digi-Bins” to be implemented across program sites. Additionally, we create STEAM experience lessons to be used at community and fee for service sites. We create and update curriculum based on student interest, science standards, industry expertise, and feedback. Topics of curriculum range from robotics, 3D designing and printing, body systems, aerospace, physical science and more. Since COVID-19, we have deployed STEAM kits into the community and create several content experiences for students.

Program/project management

• Oversee strategy and operations to drive mission-relevant results across specific Digi-Bridge school-based programs
• Train, lead, support, and coach a core team of Digi-Bridge school-based program facilitators across multiple sites
• Assist with school-based initiatives that support our programming including family events, STEAM activities, etc
• Maintain and track budgets across program offerings
• Oversee evaluation implementation across programs and program sites and report on program progress to executive team and directors
• Liaise with Digi-Bridge impact team on expanded and extended learning opportunities within programs
• Direct special projects from start to finish with a keen eye for detail in setting deadlines, assigning tasks, and communicating progress
• Evaluate challenges and create solutions for program effectiveness in partnership with school teams
• Delegate program operation needs utilizing internal systems to the operations team
Relationship management
• Create long lasting and goal-centered relationships with school-based program facilitators to ensure a community of support
• Inspire energy, passion and excitement for the Digi-Bridge mission across program facilitator teams
• Create clear and consistent communication methods for information sharing from Digi-Bridge to school-based teams
• Build relationships with other community partners and school-based staff
Community engagement
• Promote and increase participation and awareness of the Digi-Bridge by developing relationships in the school and neighborhood communities
• Serve as the face of Digi-Bridge within school communities and for key stakeholders and be able to communicate program goals and progress to goals
Curriculum development
• Support the creation of custom Digi-Bin curriculum series/experiences on a range of STEAM topics based on student interest, learning standards and industry expertise
• Lead content creation for STEAMkits which include many mini-projects centered around a common team
• Create additional curriculum as needed for special projects

Experience and qualifications:
• At least 3 years of program leadership experience, preferably in a educational setting ● Education background and/or teaching experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree
• Bilingual skills preferred though not required
• Knowledge of or previous experience working in or with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools or a similar educational landscape
• Demonstrated experience to influence and build relationships
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff, strong attention to detail

Compensation and benefits:
Salary range is $50,000-$55,000. This is a full-time exempt position. Digi-Bridge offers a supplementary stipend of $500/month for benefits in addition to paid time off. Starting August 1, Digi-Bridge will offer a 401(k) matched retirement plan.
