A new building called Mint & Morehead — located at the corner of, get this, Mint and Morehead — promises top amenities and unobstructed views of Uptown.
The project broke ground this month.
Details: Mint & Morehead will be 12 stories high and will have 393 apartments, four townhomes, and a five-story parking deck.
-
The location, more specifically at South Mint and West Morehead, is in the northern part of South End, right by Bank of America Stadium, with easy access to the Blue Line.
-
Amenities will include a courtyard and pool on the fifth floor, an indoor/outdoor sky lounge, a two-story clubhouse, and a gym.
-
Rent will be “market [rate] and commensurate with Uptown and South End,” David Helfrich, president of development for Aspen Heights Partners, tells Axios.
The big picture: It’s the latest development that will change the face of South End and Charlotte in general.
- Aspen Heights Partners is leading the project and it’ll be designed by Dwell Design, an architecture and design firm based out of Atlanta.
What they’re saying: “Charlotte’s South End has risen as a top destination to live, work and play over the past several years given the region’s beautiful weather [and] emerging job market,” Helfrich said in a statement.
What’s next: Leasing is slated to begin next fall.

Editors note: This story has been corrected to say there are 393 apartments and 4 townhomes within the building (not 393 townhomes) after the developer clarified its press release.
