IDEAworks, an immersive exhibit by Crayola will soon transform Camp North End’s Ford Building into a color-filled creative scape.

What’s happening: Charlotte will be the second stop for the worldwide traveling tour, following its inaugural run at The Franklin Institute in Pennsylvania.

What to expect: The 17,000 square-foot exhibit space will have two main areas.

  •  The IDEA Workshop where visitors can pitch product ideas and come up with creative solutions.
  • The Colorverse where guests can do anything from co-host a broadcast from Mars to create a digital piece of clothing.

The experience will also use RFID wristbands to create a customized summary of guests’ interactions throughout the exhibit.

Cost: Tickets are $25 and can be purchased on Crayola’s website. Get yours here.

Details: The exhibition starts on May 13 and runs until early September. The exact location is 400 Camp Road in the Historic Ford Building.

What they’re saying: “We are thrilled to welcome Crayola IDEAworks to the historic Ford Building, which has quickly established itself as an ideal location for immersive art experiences by local creatives and international exhibits alike,” Tommy Mann, Development Director of Camp North End said in a statement.

Zoom out: This is the second time in less than a year the Ford Building will house a traveling exhibit. The wildly popular Immersive Van Gogh exhibit moved into the Ford Building last June, extending its stay several times.

Here’s a quick photo preview of what you can look forward to.
