Overview:
The Assistant Director of Marketing makes strategic decisions based on metrics (keyword rankings, click-through rates, website visitors) and partners with college and University leadership, staff inside and outside the college, and outside vendors to meet goals. The ideal candidate will provide guidance and training for the College’s digital marketing and communications efforts and have a solid knowledge of digital marketing tools, familiarity with web design and marketing and lead generation (Salesforce) and experience with SEO/SEM and Google Analytics.

Qualifications:
Minimum
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in a closely related field and at least three years of experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed in the area of assignment.

Responsibilities:
• Develop, execute and advise on college-level marketing plans and communications strategies to support long-term, enhanced visibility, and reputation among key audiences, including enrollment and awareness goals for new and existing Belk College programs
• Provide oversight for College marketing and communications strategies and functions through research, strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation, in collaboration with the Executive Director of External Relations
• Execute and develop Belk College’s digital brand strategy to align with University branding and enhance the share of mind to raise awareness for the college among key audiences
• Supervise Digital Marketing Manager, student workers, and other resources as assigned
• Develop and manage marketing and advertising budgets for College programs and initiatives
• Provide guidance and training on the college’s digital marketing and communications efforts
• Research, plan, develop, implement and evaluate online marketing programs
• Develop communication plans, including print and digital communication, for College initiatives and projects to support increased brand awareness for the Belk College
• Provide strategic management of the Belk College website in collaboration with key internal and external partners. Maintain and continuously improve web pages via the content management system, to positively affect interest and applications to the programs
• Collaborate with the Executive Director of External Relations to establish and apply standards for the College’s web pages
• Cultivate relationships with key internal partners to achieve university and programs specific goals
• Achieve awareness goals in negotiating community partnerships and media partnerships
• Manage the online search engine optimization (SEO) and remarketing campaigns for college programs
• Contribute to University and college committees as needed or requested

Experience, skills training and education:
• Experience with digital marketing technology and platform management, including email, marketing, website CMS, digital advertising, audience segmentation, CRM and lead generation campaigns (Salesforce)
• Experience with social media campaigns, scheduling and management tools, such as Hootsuite
• Demonstrated ability to embrace and apply emerging technologies
• Basic knowledge of graphic design essentials, such as Adobe Suite
