Guest Sales & Reservations Associate
Job summary:
This position is responsible for providing excellent service to the school and youth group markets, general public and other sales markets as assigned. As the first point of contact for incoming calls, this position must be fully knowledgeable of all aspects of Discovery Place, Inc. and be able to answer questions quickly and efficiently while maximizing up-sell opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and provide exceptional customer service
• Answer incoming calls to the organization
• Learn program materials and content
• Sell and organize Museum visits, classes and programs for individuals and groups
• Communicate and manage conflict resolution internally and externally
• Interact with customers in a professional manner and provide the highest level of customer service
Meet sales quotas weekly and monthly
• Learn and effectively articulate exhibits and programs for all Museums in order to sell programs and increase sales opportunities
• Accurately report weekly activities to supervisor
Maintain client records with accurate data entry
• Accurately input customer data into ticketing system
• Accurately input customer data into sales marketing material
Provide support to all DPI departments
• Learn and effectively articulate exhibits and programs for all Museums in order to increase sales opportunities
• Serve as liaison between multiple departments for external bookings
• Maximize sales of featured exhibitions and films by using upsell techniques through outbound sales calls as assigned
• Maximize upsell opportunities for Memberships, IMAX and other programs
• Other duties as assigned
Competencies:
• Must be able to use Microsoft Office, Altru (or alternative ticketing software)
• Must have excellent customer service skills and respond promptly to customer needs. Respond well to questions and be able to adhere to processes
• Must be detail oriented and be able to manage competing demands
• Needs to work well with other DPI departments
• Must use time efficiently, follow instructions and meet productivity standards, follow instructions, respond to management direction, and look for ways to improve and promote quality
Qualifications:
High School diploma required. One year or more of sales experience required. Previous call center or customer service experience preferred. Experience with making outbound sales calls is preferred.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to read and interpret documents such as: safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Individual must be able to write routine reports and correspondence using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to apply commons sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and in dealing with problems to find solutions. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
