Overview:
The Business Analyst (Cogito Tools Administrator) is responsible for assessing internal customer’s analytic needs and providing guidance on the best possible course of action to address the need. By serving as the primary operational reporting resource on the Analytics team, this role will collaborate with end users and Analytics team members to create, validate, implement, and maintain Epic reporting content and analytics tools. Primary objective:
The primary responsibility of this position is to assess customer’s analytic needs and provide guidance on best possible course of action to address the need. By serving as the primary operational reporting resource on the Analytics team, this role will collaborate with end users and Analytics team members to create, validate, implement, and maintain Epic reporting content and analytics tools.

Essential functions:
• Creates complex operational and project-related reports including analysis, design, documentation, and ongoing support for Epic Chronicles reports. Uses tools such as Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, and SlicerDicer
• Assesses reporting needs to Epic customers through investigations, analysis and evaluation to create desired reports. Receives and documents formal requests from customer including specifications (layout, calculations, data source, etc.) Evaluates requests for completeness and if needed works with customer to finalize request
• Designs, implements, and maintains an enterprise-wide Reporting Workbench and Radar security policy
• Principle training for Hyperspace reporting tools – Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, and Slicer Dicer
• Prepares report management documentation to manage reports library, track project progress and reports problems in a timely fashion. Provides documentation and training to transfer knowledge and operational support to the Analytics team
• Works with subject matter experts and business intelligence developers to design specifications for custom report requests
• Meet with application coordinators and report consumers to understand their reporting needs and desired outcome
• Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills by effectively working with other team members to identify and resolve problems with project workflow
• Maintains the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata records
• Ensures that consumers are satisfied with reports and distribution tools
• Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the position

Skills and abilities:
• Extensive knowledge of reporting programs and tools reports creation and maintenance including Epic Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, and SlicerDicer
• Ability to translate user requirements into functional & design specifications, communicate with report consumers to gather specifications, review designs, present drafts, and validate results
• Demonstrates the ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with the project team, and key clinical stakeholders, including business services, nurses and physicians. Works closely and collaboratively with other project team members including business and clinical leaders
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues with reports
• Experience organizing and running multiple projects required
• Strong organization, analysis and problem-solving skills required, with an emphasis on attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Possesses strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills, written and oral
• Demonstrates the ability to adapt to project changes related to scope, schedule, workflow, and system utilization
• Excellent business analytical skills and general knowledge of statistics
• Experience with Microsoft Office or similar software required
