North Carolina’s first PGA TOUR Superstore opens in Charlotte on Saturday, April 16.
Why it matters: It’s one of those stores Charlotte folks say they wish we had — still waiting on you, Zara and Wegmans — and it will be the first PGA TOUR Superstore in North Carolina.
Details: The 35,640 square-foot store will sell golf, tennis and pickleball accessories, apparel and equipment.
- The store will give away $30,000 in equipment and accessories over the course of opening weekend, from irons to drivers to putters to men’s and women’s apparel, according to a Tuesday press release.
- The company will also donate $15,000 to First Tee Greater Charlotte, which works to introduce the game to kids.
Location: Look for the store at the Promenade on Providence, 5341 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy., Suite 200.
What they’re saying: “We have been looking to usher in a new experience for Charlotte-area residents for quite some time and are thrilled to finally be opening in the Queen City,” Randy Peitsch, Chief Operating Officer, PGA TOUR Superstore, said in a statement.
Between the lines: The nearest current location is in Myrtle Beach, over three and a half hours away.
- South Carolina has three stores.
- Virginia has one in Fairfax, which is nearly six hours away.
