We are Spotlight Branding – one of a few internet marketing companies NOT obsessed with SEO. We believe there is much more to the internet than where a business shows up on Google. Our services include website design, social media management, blogging, and more, which lets us help lawyers build a strong online brand for their firm. Rather than focusing on creating leads from Google, we are more focused on helping them build a strong brand, stay top of mind with their contacts, and increase their referrals by reaching people, not robots.

That’s where you come in. We are looking for a copywriter that will ghostwrite practical, informative, and engaging content for our clients. If you wanted to be a professional writer when you grew up, this is the position for you. At Spotlight Branding, you have a chance to thrive while spending your days cranking out articles without the soul-sucking toxicity found in the journalism industry.

Job description:
We provide internet marketing services specifically for lawyers and small law firms. We’re like Yoda – we’re the guides leading lawyers through the marketing world. If that reference doesn’t make sense, watch Star Wars before your interview with us.

This job is ideal for someone who likes to spend their day writing blogs, social media, and website content. You will be tasked with taking legal concepts and condensing them down to something the average person can read and understand.

If the Yoda reference didn’t sell you on working here, we have a production studio, a PlayStation 5, and a ping pong table, and we take it all pretty seriously. We also promote a positive, collaborative, and fun work environment, with several outings and team bonding activities scheduled throughout the year.

Required attributes:
This job requires a person who possesses excellent writing ability (duh). We need someone who enjoys writing several articles per day and can easily adapt to changing tones, audiences, and subjects. If you feel like the things below describe you, then we’d like to learn more about you! If they don’t, we suggest looking for a different job opportunity – perhaps you can be a freelancer writing hollow listicles for Buzzfeed.
Expert grammatical and writing abilities
We have published authors in this office, so we know what’s right from wrong. We’re looking for someone who can even teach us a thing or two.
Ability to meet and beat deadlines
Yes, we have deadlines; and yes, we expect you to meet them.
Be a chameleon
No, we don’t need you to be a literal reptile, but we do need you to be able to adapt to varying tones, audiences, and subjects.
Attention to detail
Clients want the work they pay for to be accurate and efficient. We need someone who has an eye for detail and can deliver high-quality work for their clients.
Strong critical thinker
Part of your role will be helping clients develop the right content strategy and applying your own analysis to create the best plan of action.
Marketing and branding knowledge
You don’t need to be a marketing expert in your career, but you should at least bring some level of knowledge or experience in this area.
Highly organized
Let’s be honest, everyone likes to say they are organized. But, it is important that this comes easy for you.

Pay and hours:
This is a salaried position. Our hours of operation are Monday- Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flex hours available. In addition, we offer work from home Fridays. We also provide Healthcare options, 10 days of paid vacation, as well as flexible personal days when you need them.
