Good news: we’re rounding up good news.
Life isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, but it doesn’t hurt to look back and remember all the good things that have happened lately.
That’s why we teamed up with Lineberger Orthodontics (literally the smile pros) to round up a few things that have made us smile recently.
The Rolling Stones paid quite the visit
Yes, they put on a great show at Bank of America Stadium. But perhaps the best part was seeing where the stars went during their time off the stage.
Mick Jagger was spotted in Freedom Park, but the real miracle is that he had a beer at the Thirsty Beaver and no one even noticed. (including the people that sat next to him, even though they had floor seats to his show the next night).
- ICYMI, Plaza Midwood had a big week; the Kindreds are turning the old Dairy Queen into a cafe named Milkbread.
Pumpkin patches, apple picking, leaf peeping, PSL everything. Some may say it’s the most wonderful time of the year.
The bunnies hopped into town
Amanda Parer’s “Intrude” exhibit, otherwise known as the “giant bunnies” returned to Uptown for a few weeks.
Festivals are in full swing
It felt like Charlotte really came back to life the past few months, despite a few heartbreaking cancellations (looking at you, SHOUT!). Still, hallmark events like Taste of Charlotte, Festival in the Park, Tuck Fest and more definitely had us cheesin’.
There’s still plenty to look forward to, too.
Booze every day of the week
Thanks to a new law, North Carolina distilleries can sell their bottles on Sundays. Whether it’s a gameday restock or part of your weekend grocery run, we’re all about a law that makes having fun a little bit easier.
Lots of new biz in Charlotte
Summer was a busy season for new openings in the city. Use our Now Open roundup to add some new spots to your regular rotation.
One to watch: Bitty & Beau’s, a coffee shop that employs individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, opened in early October in South End’s Design Center. Paying a visit is sure to make you smile.
Our team grew 🥺
We’re not ones to brag, but what better reason to smile than adding a few more great people to our team? Ashley Mahoney, Laura Barrero, and Drew Ballesteros all came on board the Axios Charlotte ship in the last 2 months.
