Associate Research Director

• Develop presentations, whitepapers and other content that positions CBRE as the dominant voice in the industry and market
• Interact with leadership and sales professionals within CBRE, as well as key clients in the market
• Create and maintain high levels of business engagement for research initiatives
• Support, drive and leverage global, regional and local research initiatives as needed
• Partner with Marketing to ensure CBRE research get maximum media exposure
• Develop the Research Thought Leadership agenda, by:
• Analyzing market trends and incorporate findings into presentations and white papers
• Evaluating processes and tools for developing advanced information and analytic approaches as a key driver of differentiation
• Evaluating opportunities to extract customer-relevant insights from existing data
• Performs other duties as assigned

• The person in this role will serve as the public face of CBREs perspectives on property and market dynamics in Charlotte, NC
• Must have a curiosity to draw insights at the intersection of the financial services industry and real estate
• This role requires the client care of multiple internal and external constituencies sales professionals, management, media, real estate associations, clients by providing relevant insights on market conditions and trends

Education and experience:
• BA/BS from a four-year college or university in economics, finance, business administration or related field of study. Masters preferred. Minimum 6-8 years of related experience
• Minimum 4 years of commercial real estate experience. Local market/sector knowledge/experience required.

Communication skills:
• Strong communication skills. Ability, both in written and verbal, to confidently speak to senior professionals in the company, clients and third parties and communicate objectives in a clear and effective fashion
• Ability to effectively present prepared information at speaking engagements and to client presentations.

Reasoning ability:
• Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills. Teacher and student of cognitive thought process. Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure
• Must have a commercial mindset. Able to identify trends and think about the market in innovative ways. Can translate ideas into thoughtful deliverables that differentiate CBRE, our professionals and our products

Other skills and abilities:
• Ability to work as a team player in a matrixed environment. Can navigate the dynamics of a large company, with a centralized Research function, while also understanding how to support/align global, national and local initiatives
• Strong technical skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and amenable to learning new technologies and systems related to data collection, extraction and tracking
• A expert understanding of Research fundamentals and methodologies. Knowledge of how to apply research and data analytics expertise to benefit our brand and core businesses
• Must have a strong project management skillset. Can oversee multiple large & complex projects, determine priorities and develop a through-line to completion, including harnessing the right resources and collaborating along the way
