Overview:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the accounting and financial operational functions at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. The Accounting Manager is a full-time, benefit-eligible position and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities:
• Maintaining the general ledger system
• Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
• Coordinating activities of external auditors
• Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
• Assisting with the budget process
• Evaluating accounting processes and internal control systems
• Evaluating the effectiveness of the various software applications and supporting databases, as needed
• Providing financial support to the various operating teams, as needed
• Monitoring business performance metrics
• Assisting with regulatory reporting and compliance
• Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff

Requirements:
• Solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills
• Knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
• Three or more years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA, MBA, or professional certification, a plus
• Previous experience in public accounting, a plus
• Comfortable with the physical duties related to the position
