Senior Media Manager

The ideal candidate will possess a strong working understanding of digital advertising channels, have the ability to analyze and report on media activity performance, and develop metrics-driven strategies to achieve client goals. Experience working with OTT platforms and social media is a must.

This position will service multiple clients and will sit within the organization’s media division, reporting directly to the Associate VP of Media.

Media planning
• Independently build digital media strategies and supporting tactics for various clients and campaigns, often from the ground up, with a focus on performance marketing strategies
• Use and analyze historical data and research to inform planning strategies and performance forecasting
• Apply solid understanding of audience profiling techniques, media consumption habits, and competitive analysis
• Pursue and implement innovative media planning ideas, applications, and platforms
Media buying
• Execute media campaigns across various platforms including paid social, paid search, display, video (YouTube and OTT), and other media channels – experience with Snapchat, Pinterest, and TikTok is a plus
• Work with creative and content teams to inform and produce campaign creative assets, helping with concepts and copywriting
• Able to quickly identify, learn, and develop relevant tactics and targeting on new platforms
• When relevant, manage relationships with outside media agencies and media vendors in planning and execution phases
Optimization and automation
• Provide continuous optimization of live media campaigns to reach client goals and KPIs
• Analyze digital and social media behavior and patterns to drive engagement strategies in real time
• Keep track of budget pacing and actual spends to date
• Conduct on-going testing and test new platform features and opportunities to stay at the cutting edge
• Leverage AI and automation to improve performance and efficiency
• Oversee the flow of data through internal consumption to external reporting
• Work with the Insights Team to deliver reports and presentations on analytics and campaign results, while offering key insights, learnings, and recommendations
• Evaluate, analyze, recommend, and implement third-party tracking solutions to improve our efforts
• When applicable, ensure outside media agencies provide complete and actionable analysis of digital buys and optimizations for recent and future campaigns
Strategic thinking and leadership
• Lead and work with the Media Team, and other relevant teams, to develop strategies and supporting tactics for media plans/buys
• Share new and relevant advertising opportunities in written and verbal form to the media department and other relevant departments, including Account Management
• Strategize ways to most effectively use media dollars to the greatest benefit for our clients across multiple platforms
• Assess problems and concerns in a systematic, logical, and rational manner
• Proactively resolve issues, know when to escalate and to whom
• Assist in the training and mentoring of junior team members
• Lead junior analysts on accounts and provide guidance and feedback on tactical implementation
• Capable of managing multiple deliverables and ability to seamlessly transition among them
• Lead briefing of activation team to guide tactical planning, with support from leadership
• Support and develop department best practices and standards documentation and training
• Proactively strive to level up the team and lead special projects that advance both the Media Team and the company
• Look for efficiency opportunities with automation and is not afraid to question the norm for improvement
• Strive to go the extra mile both internally for team members and externally for clients
• Stay up-to-date with relevant industry news and platform developments

Skills and requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in media planning, buying, and reporting
• Demonstrated ability with managing high-complexity projects and clients across multiple paid media platforms, including Paid Social, Paid Search, Display, and • Video while meeting client goals and KPIs
• Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills to clients of varying sizes and levels
• Ability to prioritize workload while maintaining high attention to detail
• Advanced analytical skills and experience with Google Analytics, or a comparable analytics platform
• Eager to learn and independently grow paid media knowledge and skill sets
• Experience interacting with vendors/contractors
• Experience creating clear, concise reports suitable for multiple audiences (e.g., executive teams, clients, key stakeholders, partners, etc.)
