FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24

Mecktoberfest Weekend Two at OMB (4150 Yancey Rd.): Head to The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery for weekend two of Mecktoberfest. There will be live music in the 10.5-acre Biergarten and authentic German-fare like pork schnitzel, German potato salad, and Bavarian pretzels with Copper bier cheese. 11am to 11pm. Free. Details.

Morelia Gourmet Paletas 5-Year Anniversary at 1425 Winnifred St., Suite 104: Morelia is celebrating its 5-year anniversary by giving away free paletas. Options include kosher, vegan and gluten-free. 1-10pm. Free. Details.

Festival in the Park at Freedom Park (1908 East Blvd.): Festival in the Park has been a Charlotte tradition since 1964. This weekend-long event will have local art, food and activities the entire family can enjoy. 4-9pm. Free. Details.

Get Loud Music Festival at 3000 South Tryon St.: Enjoy an outdoor, live music fest with a custom-created lineup of craft beer, seltzer and kombucha flavors inspired by the festival. 5pm. $28. Details.

Tread Nightly and Tread Brightly at the Whitewater CenterChoose between a nighttime or daytime trail race or tackle both back-to-back. Distances include a 4-mile route and a half marathon route. September 24-25; 6pm. $32-$55. Details.

Historic Rosedale’s Haunted History Tour at 3427 North Tryon St.: If you’re interested in the supernatural, the Historic Rosedale Haunted History Tours are back. Take a guided tour of the gardens and grounds surrounding the historic 1815 house and reconstructed blacksmith shop. 6:45-8pm. $15-$20. Details.

Modern Abstract Art Online with SkillPop: Abstract artist, LaDara McKinnon, will walk you through creating your own unique acrylic painting. This class will cover techniques like color mixing and layering. 7-8:30pm. $24. Details.

Knights vs. Norfolk Tides at Truist Field (324 South Mint St.): Cheer on the Knights as they take on the Norfolk Tides in their fourth match-game series. Following the game will be a Friday firework spectacular. 7:04pm. $11-$57. Details.

Girl Tribe Pop-Up at the Charlotte Convention Center (501 South College St.): Shop from a curated collection of more than 100 women-led businesses at this one-of-a-kind shopping experience. Vendors include boutiques, clothing designers, jewelers, artists and makers. General admission is $5, but the $25 VIP ticket gets you early access, discounts from every vendor and a special swag bag full of goodies. 10am to 5pm. $5-$25. Details.

Pet Pop-Up Summit at Camp North End (300 Camp Rd.): Shop from 20 local pet businesses and meet adoptable dogs. Leaders in Charlotte’s pet community will also be holding sessions covering topics like best tips for responsible pet ownership, becoming a foster and even pet photography. 10am to 5pm. NoDa Garden Walk in Noda Neighborhood: Get a glimpse into some of NoDa’s tucked-away gardens in the first-ever NoDa Garden Walk. Chat with experts who can help you with your own garden, or just browse the greenery.   10am to 1pm. Free. Details.

OH Well – Eat the Frog Fitness at 1115 North Brevard St.: Join Eat the Frog Fitness for a workout that combines athletic-inspired training and cutting-edge technology to give you a good sweat. 10-11am. Free. Details.

Potters Market at Mint Museum Randolph (2730 Randolph Rd.): This outdoor market will showcase more than 60 of North Carolina’s top ceramic artists. Other festivities include live music, pottery demos, a raffle and of course concessions. Masks are required. 10am to 4pm. $15. Details.

Once Upon a Drag Brunch at Artisan’s Palate (1218 East 36th St. A): Artisan’s Palate will be serving brunch and the Queens will be serving looks. Brunch specials include $5 Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s. 11:30am. $20. Details.

Town Brewing Three Year Anniversary at Town Brewing (800 Grandin Rd.): Town Brewing is celebrating its third birthday with a day of festivities including special beer releases, live music, a pop-up market and axe throwing. Noon to 11pm. Free. Details.

A Petty Oktoberfest at Petty Thieves Brewing (413 Dalton Ave., Suite B): Head to Petty Thieves Brewing for its second-annual Oktoberfest complete with games and activities, custom half and liter mugs, music and Schnitzel and bratwurst. Noon to 10 pm. Free. Details.

Astro Pop Mural & Music Festival at The Chamber by Wooden Robot (416 East 36th St., Ste. 100): This art and music extravaganza will have live painted murals, live music, food trucks and vendors throughout the patio and rooftop beer garden at The Chamber by Wooden Robot. #CLTMuralCrawl at 1212 Central Ave.: It’s an art walk and pub crawl wrapped into one. 2-8pm. $7.50-$10. Details.

KT Winery Launch Party at QC Social Lounge (300 North College Street #105): Join KT Winery at QC Social Lounge for the launch and first tasting of their newest wine, Mom Juice. There will be snacks and music and guests will receive their own bottle of Mom Juice. 5-7pm. $42-$58. Details.

AfroPopCLT Goodbye Summer Fest at 1530 Elizabeth Ave., 100: Seize the final days of summer at this outdoor music event. There will be a live culinary demonstration of Chef Santana and an interactive screen printing installation by MacFly Fresh. 5-10pm. $8-$10. Details.

End of Summer Cocktail Dinner at Vana South End (1440 South Tryon St.): Enjoy a six-course, vegan tasting menu paired with end-of-summer cocktails at Vana South End. 5-11pm. $85. Details.

Music and Museum Celebrating 20th Century Women at The Bechtler Museum of Modern Art (420 South Tryon St.): The Bechtler Ensemble will perform an exciting selection of music by women composers, including the works of Germaine Tailleferre, Gabriela Lena Frank and Amy Beach. 6pm. $5-$14. Details.
