The Cocktailery, a boutique selling everything you need for your at-home bar, is now open at Atherton Mill in South End, in the former Brideside spot next to Not Just Coffee. Owner Tamu Curtis has grown her business during the pandemic by offering virtual corporate cocktail classes to companies like Google and Space X.
- The Cocktailery sells home bar supplies like glassware, strainers and other tools, plus bitters, cocktail kits, apparel, trays and other home goods. Curtis will offer in-person classes, too.
Leenie Rae, a women’s boutique, is now open at 7415 Waverly Walk Ave., in the Waverly shopping center in south Charlotte, CBJ reports. The shop sells a selection of apparel, jewelry and accessories from brands including Velvet and Trovata.
The Burlington department store chain is opening a Concord location soon at at 6390 Bayfield Parkway, per the Observer. Recently, the retailer also opened a new local store at The Poplin Place Shopping Center at 2901 W. U.S. Highway 74 in Monroe.
Scotch & Soda — which sells men’s, women’s and children’s clothing — is also opening soon at SouthPark mall, near the Apple store and next to Johnny Was and across from Altar’d State.
Carolina Fine Arts, an artist-operated gallery and retail store, is now open in Dilworth at 2400 Park Road, in The Courtyard development. The shop features local artists’ works such as original paintings and pottery. The gallery has opened with nine artists but plans to grow.

Spencer’s, the gift shop, is now open at Charlotte Premium Outlets between Aldo and the Beef Jerky Outlet.
Boss, Free People Movement, Golden Goose, Saint Laurent and Vince all opened over the summer at SouthPark, per CBJ.
