As a member of the Theory Communication & Design team, the Web Developer will be responsible for the development and support of new and existing web and mobile applications. By using a solid foundation in object-oriented programming, this individual will code and maintain applications written in the following programming/scripting languages: HTML, CSS, Javascript, and JS Frameworks.

Theory Communication and Design is privately owned by a local businessman who loves the Charlotte community and looks for ways to give back. Company culture is extremely important at Theory, and finding fun, like-minded team members is a top priority.

• Develop compelling and cutting-edge web applications
• Content-management system-based programming and web application development
• Communicate, practice, and enforce code standards
• Work with our in-house creative team to develop necessary creative assets for digital experiences
• Test, maintain, and troubleshoot new and existing digital properties

Experience and skills:
• Demonstrated development experience with WordPress or Shopify
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS, and Javascript
• Some knowledge of Javascript Frameworks. I.E. React
• Some Experience working with REST APIs or GraphQL
• Ability to transform conceptual Photoshop files into web pages, including manipulating PSD’s into web-ready images
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of professional standards and quality
• Ability to function in a small team and wear many hats in order to get the job done
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, written and oral communications skills
• Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to play a mean game of Corn Hole, or sabotage the other team trying to play
