Working to build homes, communities and hope in Charlotte and the surrounding area, Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region has partnered with more than 3,000 families since 1983. This year, we will help over 300 families through new home construction, recycling existing homes, critical home repair projects and financial literacy training. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a leading nonprofit organization in the field of affordable housing.

Overview:
Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region is looking for a college student or recent graduate to join the marketing and communications team as a Marketing intern. The marketing intern will provide support for Habitat Charlotte Region’s content and digital asset management functions and assist in executing marketing needs for online and in-person events. Tasks include content writing for the blog and website as well as capturing and organizing photographs in the digital library.

Responsibilities:
• Provide overall support to Habitat Charlotte Region’s content and digital asset management functions and assist in executing marketing needs for organizational events
• Work with the Marketing Manager, Content & Development Support to identify and curate homeowner stories for fundraising marketing tactics
• Capture image assets and help develop content to support Habitat Charlotte affiliate marketing efforts
• Coordinate Digital Asset Management
• Assist in writing content for the affiliate (family stories, blog posts and website)
• Assist with the planning and execution of Habitat Charlotte Region events
• Willingly adhere to Habitat’s Code of Conduct Policy and any other policies set forth by the organization
• Demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude when interacting with employees, homeowners, volunteers, and the public
• Represent Habitat in a positive, professional manner

Education and skills:
• Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing or PR
• Effective communicator; able to adapt communications style to the target audience
• Effective story-teller capable of drafting copy for digital marketing efforts
• Basic digital photography and image editing skills
• Flexible self-starter
• Strong attention to detail
• Strategic mindset

Physical requirements:
• Ability to sit at a desk and operate a computer for lengthy periods of time
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time (in the office, at an event, at the ReStore, or while visiting a construction site)
