You don’t have to go far for beautiful running scenery in Charlotte. Here are some running routes where you can catch skyline views along the way.

Pro top: If you’re looking for some extra motivation, register to run the OrthoCarolina 10k/5k Classic on September 18. The race also includes a food truck and beer fest.

  • Because the best runs end with a cold beer and delish food.

Glimpses of the skyline poke through at almost every point on this loop. But the main attraction is the sweeping views on the Hawthorne Lane and Central Avenue bridges. It also takes you by Midtown and Independence Parks if you’re looking to add on some mileage.

Pro tip: Run this one counter-clockwise to catch the views so that you’re facing the city on Central Avenue.

Irwin Creek and Stewart Creek Greenways

This route takes you from Freedom Drive to Bank of America Stadium with skyline views as you’re heading East. There are also plenty of benches with views of the city if you’re looking for a place to catch your breath.

Pro tip: You can find parking at Frazier Park and Seversville Park (just up the path from the route).

Into the thick of it: This run takes you between the skyscrapers for up-close and personal views of uptown. Just don’t forget to look up.

Music Factory and Camp North End

This route has a more industrial vibe than you’ll find on a greenway, but you’re rewarded with a unique view of the skyline and plenty of post-run refreshment options at Camp North End.
