The Fairwood 226 is a fun and energetic high-volume bar/restaurant located in Charlotte’s booming South End neighborhood. We offer a bar-centric open-air vibe with plenty of indoor, outdoor and rooftop seating. Our goal is to provide a healthy and fun culture while reinforcing strong work ethics and integrity.

Job summary:
The ownership group is hardworking and ambitious and are looking for a General Manager who has the same traits and is experienced enough to jump right in and take the ball and run with it. We will be involved in daily operations and are committed to making sure the GM is receiving the right resources to be able to do their job to the best of their ability, and as efficiently as possible. We utilize over a dozen software applications to streamline and automate the process of running The Fairwood 226 so as much time and effort can be focused on guest experience and front-of-the-house operations. Due to being technology-heavy, we want to emphasize that computer and organizational skills are a high priority that will be considered heavily along with experience and cultural fit.

Responsibilities:
• The General Manager will develop and maintain a high-performance team that achieves guest satisfaction and financial success
• Work with ownership to track financial objectives and assist in developing and implementing strategies to increase food and alcohol sales
• Provide strong leadership and managerial skills
• Maintain a positive, fun work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner conducive to developing and sustaining positive relationships with guests, staff and ownership
• Refine operations by preparing policies, protocols and standard operating procedures
• Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
• Assist in developing and implementing marketing and advertising campaigns
• Coordinate daily FOH and BOH bar and restaurant operations
• Hire, train, motivate and provide ongoing communication to staff to build and maintain a team that has fun and strives to provide an outstanding guest experience
• Assess staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity and guest relations
• Effectively schedule associates to meet sales volume demands
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations and staff training/certifications
• Work five days per week, including nights, weekends and some holidays. Some closing hours on weekend nights can be as late as 4am due to sales volume

Skills:
• Proven work experience as a Bar/Restaurant Manager, Bar/Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role
• Minimum of five years of hospitality experience required
• Minimum of three years of *high volume* bar/restaurant experience required
• Must be dependable, reliable and motivated
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make sound decisions
• Ability to multitask, follow through and accomplish tasks in a timely manner
• Must take initiative with projects and tasks
• Must possess strong leadership, motivational, communication and people skills
• Able to work ten hour-plus shifts, with extensive standing/walking
• Have the ability to lift materials and/or products up to 50 pounds or more
• Prior experience with daily cash handling required

Compensation:
• Pay- $55,000-$75,000
• Supplemental Pay: Bonus pay
