Overview:
Wyndham Capital Mortgage (WCM) is looking for a Senior Vice President of Risk to manage WCM’s risk pillar through the oversight and execution of strong risk management processes while working with internal and external customers. Specifically, this position will be responsible for managing compliance, third-party vendor oversight, quality control monitoring and testing, legal matters, and general risk oversight.

Job description:
• Manage the Risk Management pillar and provide direct oversight to Compliance, Legal, Complaint Management, Third Party Oversight, Quality Control, Fair Lending, Operational Incident, and Fraud programs
• Serve on the Executive Committee and assist with the formulation of company strategies, vision, and concerns impacting the organization
• Manage the Third-Party Oversight Department which includes risk assessment methodologies, pre-contract due diligence requirements, contract reviews, and ongoing monitoring routines for over critical 150 third parties
• Manage the Compliance Department which includes state and investor examinations, regulatory change control program, company and employee licensing, policy and procedures, fair lending analysis, regulatory reporting, compliance monitoring and testing, disclosures, and more
• Track, remediate, analyze and test for successful remediation of all examination/audit findings identified through state examinations, investor and warehouse audits
• Manage the Quality Control Department which includes the in-house pre and post-closing testing, reporting, training and remediation of thematic issues with the business
• Maintain the risk appetite and key risk indicators across all lines of business with escalation to the Executive Committee
• Identify strategic cross-functional opportunities, develop project plans, and act as project manager through completion
• Execute ongoing consulting engagements with all business areas to identify and mitigate areas of risk through enhanced control framework, process efficiencies, best practices, and ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and agency guidelines
• Monitor, track, investigate and escalate operational incidents and potential fraud
• Conduct an annual mock Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) examination to identify regulatory gaps and practices and remediated noted gaps
• Serve as the executive sponsor of WCM’s customer service program, maintain a strong culture for internal and external customer service levels, review and respond to escalated customer complaints, and identify thematic customer issues
• Administer compliance, risk and fraud training across the organization
• Perform additional duties as requested by the CEO

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related technical field required. Advanced degree (i.e. MBA, Juris Doctorate) preferred
• Minimum 5+ years mortgage experience
• Minimum 5+ years management experience
• Proficient in interpretation and assessment of compliance with federal and state consumer protection laws
• Must be detail-oriented to generate and analyze accurate reporting for vendor monitoring and management of projects
• Have an understanding and commitment to WCM’s Risk Framework, Compliance Management System, and Risk Appetite and implement into daily decision making
• Must have the ability to assess, identify, and mitigate risk issues early in the process, including the proper allocation and management of such risks
• Have strong project management, organizational, communication, and planning skills
• Must have strong interpersonal skills to interact with project teams, multiple departments, and vendors to achieve project objectives
• Be proficient with MS Office skills including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel
• Have the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
• Must have the ability to make independent decisions and exercise keen judgment
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively and drive results
• Requires extreme attention to detail and ability to adhere to strict guidelines and procedures
