Epic Data Courier/Interface Analyst
Job functions:
• Ensure the integrity and security of data transfer and exchange within the IT environment
• Translate interface requirements into HL7 specifications for the build and support of interfaces
• Identify, troubleshoot & resolve errors relating to system configuration and/or workflow processes
• Create, configure and troubleshoot Data Courier interfaces
• Ensure Data Courier interfaces and protection settings are in accordance with policies and procedures
• Perform administrative and technical tasks for the Document Management System and other third-party systems as needed
• Perform regular software upgrades to EHR and relevant applications
• The ability to read, write and type. Will sit and interact with a computer for prolonged periods of time
• The ability to use different kinds of computer applications and other related technical tools
• The ability to work on-site
• Predictable, reliable and prompt attendance

• The Epic Data Courier/Interface Analyst plays an important role to provide timely and seamless integration and interoperability for health information exchange throughout the organization
Supervision:
• The Data Courier/Interface Analyst reports to the Manager, EPIC Data Conversion /Interface, as well as the CIO
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Work environment:
The Epic Data Courier/Interface Analyst functions in a dynamic and fast-growing eye, ear, nose and throat practice. Occasionally, employees will be seated at cubicles in a quiet office. Equipment required to perform essential functions includes but is not limited to computers, printers, scanners and other peripherals

• Motion parameters: Employee will spend time sitting in front of a computer for long hours, typing, repetitive clicking of a mouse
• Mental requirements: Employees must have the ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions, the ability to work under pressure, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and the ability to work alone for long stretches of time without direct supervision
Position type and expected hours of work:
• This is a full-time, salaried position
• The standard working hours are from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday, however, after hours and weekend work will be required as needed. There will be system downtime, upgrades and emergent situations that may require attention outside of standard working hours
• This position is eligible under the Manager’s discretion, for telecommuting after the successful completion of a 90-day probationary period of good standing and demonstrated competency in the Data Courier/Interface Analyst role
Travel:
The job may require occasional travel to clinic and training locations
Education and experience:
• Degree in Business or IT related field or higher
• Experience in the design, development, maintenance and support of electronic data interfaces. Corepoint(Lyniate) experience highly desired
• Experience and/or working knowledge of HL7 v2.x, HL7 v3.x, C-CDA and XML standards and protocols
• Experience in data conversion and migration strategies
Additional qualifications:
• Epic Systems Certification or Competency
• IT Certifications related to essential job functions

Training:
The employee is expected to have a certain level of aptitude and experience to perform the job duties as outlined in the Essential Job Functions section. The Information Technology field is constantly changing, and it is expected that the Data Courier/Interface Analyst will use the resources available (both internal and external, free and paid) to obtain additional training necessary to keep up with current technology. It is expected that after six months in the position the employee will be proficient in the role of Data Courier/Interface Analyst
