Chick-fil-A’s East Woodlawn restaurant will reopen on September 23, a representative tells Axios Charlotte.

Why it matters: The widely popular location, famous for creating backups along Woodlawn while serving everyone from Myers Park High students to office workers, has been closed since January as it transitions to a drive-thru only.

  • The decision to renovate was in part made to alleviate traffic.
  • This new space will have seating outdoors but not indoors.
  • Check for restaurant updates on the East Woodlawn location’s Instagram and TikTok.

The renovation involved tearing down the old building and starting from scratch with the new one. Driving by, it looks to be almost complete.

Now hiring: The restaurant is holding open interviews for multiple positions from 9am-2pm every Tuesday and Thursday.

Zoom out: Chick-fil-A has been remodeling and rebuilding other restaurants locally and nationwide as a way to alleviate traffic and add additional drive-thru lanes.
