Early Girl Eatery’s first Charlotte restaurant is slated to open in late 2021 or early 2022 in South End’s Dimensional Place building.

What to expect: Owner Jesson Gil likens the Early Girl dining experience to eating a home-cooked meal made with ingredients you’ve picked out from a farmer’s market.

  • At the Asheville location, Gil and his team source from 32 local farmers and vendors.

On the menu: The menu will be the same as the Asheville location, but Gil tells me the Charlotte menu will include more fried chicken options.

  • Their most popular dish is “Bow to the King” which is a take on chicken and waffles. It pairs Southern fried chicken tenders with cinnamon-battered, made-from-scratch buttermilk biscuits, topped with fresh house-made whipped cream and seasonal fresh fruit.

Space: Guests can expect a totally new look from the Asheville location — one that Gil describes as “cozy and classy.”

Location: The exact address is 1515 S. Tryon St. across the street from Flower Child.
