Extended Day Teacher

Overview:
This position is a part-time staff teaching position beginning August 2021.

The Extended Day Program, a nationally recognized after school program, provides an enriching experience for Lower School students at Providence Day School through teachers who actively promote the social, emotional and physical development of children through nurturing relationships, flexible scheduling and choices that reflect each child’s individual needs, interests and abilities.

Responsibilities:
Collaborates as part of the Extended Day Team of teachers to actively promote safety and the social, emotional and physical development of each child through nurturing relationships and activity choices that reflect each child’s individual needs, interests and abilities.

Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, the person should have previous experience working with school-age children. An undergraduate degree is preferred but not required. 15-20 hours of work Monday through Friday afternoons (1:30 – 5:00 or similar hours) during the academic school year. The teacher should have excellent interpersonal skills as it relates to building relationships with school-age children Excellent teamwork skills are essential for working within the Extended Day Team of approximately 30 teachers. Works additional hours on school holidays and teacher workdays, if needed.

Salary and benefits:
This position is paid on an hourly basis and is non-benefited.
