800-Degree Woodfired Kitchen is now open in the former Restoration Hardware space at Phillips Place.
(You may recall, RH Charlotte moved into its own massive three-story building with a rooftop restaurant last year.)
Background: The international restaurant chain started in Westwood, California, and now has 16 locations across the world — from New York City to Dubai. Its Phillips Place location is the first 800-Degree in the Carolinas and offers a different experience from the other locations, owner Steven Jensen says, with more emphasis on fine dining.
What to expect: Everything on the menu is cooked in a rotating, 800-degree oven that is specifically manufactured for each 800-Degree location.
Menu: Pizzas are their specialty, but other popular menu items include burgers and wood-fired wings. There is also a selection of menu items unique to the Charlotte location.
- You can also enjoy a drink from Bar ONE, a separate cocktail bar under the same roof that has its own identity but still offers the full menu from 800-Degree. The cocktail list is whiskey and scotch-focused.
- Unlike other 800-Degree locations, Jensen says everything in the 2,500-square-foot restaurant has been hand-picked— from the walnut flooring to the leather seat coverings. The project cost upwards of $2 million (!).
- Guests have the option to dine indoors in the main dining room or outside on the patio.
Location: The exact location is 6815 Phillips Place Court, directly across from PF Chang’s.
