Still blows my mind that a band from the other side of the Atlantic can come and sell out a place like the Fillmore on a Wednesday night in Charlotte, but that’s exactly what Chvrches did last week. Pretty amazing. Lot of variety in Charlotte this week. Check something out.

  • 11/4: The New Mastersounds, Funk You; Neighborhood Theatre, 8 p.m., $18-$25. British funk band The New Mastersounds have played all over the globe and have collaborated with artists like Corinne Bailey Rae and Karl Denson. They bring their brand of funk to Neighborhood on hump day.

  • 11/7: Slightly Stoopid, Stick Figure, Sun-Dried Vibes; The Fillmore, 7:30 p.m., $27.50. Slightly Stoopid hail from California and for 20 years have been playing a style of reggae with a hint of blues, folk and punk not heard from many other bands.
