Highlights: Recent renovations, subway tile backsplash, neutral fresh color palette. Bonus: You can also find two-beds under $1,000.

Amenities: Pool, gym, green space, ample parking, business center.

Move here if: You’re looking for a good deal.

Size: 471-681 square feet.

The Edison | 1-bed | Under $1,000

Best one-bedroom apartment for under $1,000 a month

Highlights: Prime Plaza Midwood location (you can walk to Common Market, N.C. Red, or Dish in under 3 minutes), sleek cabinetry, plank flooring, spacious balconies, open floor plans, (some) skyline views.

Amenities: The community has a small gym but no other high-end amenities like a pool. With modern apartments under $1,000 a month within walking distance to some of the best spots in the city, it’s fair tradeoff.

Move here if: All of your favorite spots are in Plaza Midwood, and you like a good deal.

Amenities: Pool, gym, tennis courts, playground, ample parking.

Move here if: You want multiple bedrooms and love the suburbs. Bonus: They’ve also got great deals on one-beds (with dining rooms!) starting at $930 a month.

Highlights: Brand new, tons of availability, chef’s kitchen, wood-style plank flooring, contemporary finishes, close to greenways and Park Road and Montford hot spots. Bonus: They’ve got one-beds under $1,000 a month, too.

Amenities: Rooftop terrace, salt water pool, fire pit, social lounge, gym.

Move here if: Park Road shopping center is your life line.
