Searching for this year’s Christmas Tree? We’ve made it a whole lot easier.
From Charlotte to the North Carolina mountains, here are 11 tree farms to check out on your tree hunt, including address, hours, pricing and tree varieties to expect.
The Whitewater Center
Beginning this year, the Whitewater Center will sell Christmas Trees from the high country as part of the Winter at Whitewater festivities.
Location: 5000 Whitewater Center Pkwy
2023 Season: Begins Thursday, Nov. 23.
Pricing: $45-$150
Tree varieties: Fraser fir. Holiday goods, like wreaths, will also be for sale.
Dates/hours: Park hours vary daily — find opening hours on their online calendar or call (704) 391-3900 to confirm.

Simpson’s Produce
This long-running produce market is right outside Midtown, making it an easy stop to haul a tree home to any of the nearby areas, like South End, Uptown or Elizabeth.
Location: 938 S Kings Dr.
2023 Season: Starts mid-November, according to their Facebook.
Of note: We weren’t able to reach anyone from Simpson’s to confirm additional details.
Mrs. Ruth’s Christmas Trees
Find a collection of trees and toppers to match at this local lot 30 minutes from Uptown Charlotte.
Location: 2206 Charlotte Hwy., Mooresville
2023 Season: Starts Wednesday, Nov. 15
Pricing: A 7-8 foot tree ranges from $75-$95.
Tree varieties: Fraser fir, Blue spruces
Dates/hours: Monday through Sunday, 10am-8pm.

Snowflake Village
Located off South Tryon, this local tree lot donates a portion of all proceeds to several charity partners.
Location: 12201 S. Tryon St.
2023 Season: Starts Saturday, Nov. 18
Pricing: Online prices for a Fraser fir range from $39 for a 4-foot tree to $349 for an 11-12 foot tree.
Tree varieties: Fraser fir
Dates/hours: Monday through Saturday from 10am-8pm; Sunday 12-6pm.
Cedar Lake Tree Farm
Choose from a variety of trees, wreaths and artisan crafts at this family farm that’s been running since 1992. You can snag a pre-cut tree or choose and cut your own.
Location: 5829 NC-27, Iron Station
2023 Season: Starts Saturday, Nov. 18
Pricing: Prices vary, but all pre-cut trees are $60.
Tree varieties: Fraser fir (pre-cut), red cedar (choose and cut), pine, Leyland cypress and Carolina Sapphire.
Dates/hours: Monday-Saturday 9am-8pm and Sunday 10am-8pm.
Hillbilly Market
This family-owned market has two Charlotte locations plus a spot in Weddington — all trees come from Jefferson, N.C., and range in size from table toppers to 12-footers.
Location(s): Foxcroft Shopping Center, The Arboretum, and Antioch Church Road
2023 Season: Starts Saturday, Nov. 18
Pricing: The market’s most popular trees are 6-7 feet tall and range from $80-$110.
Tree varieties: Fraser fir
Days/hours: Monday through Saturday 9am-9pm, Sunday 10am-8pm.

St. Gabriel Church
The St. Gabriel Men’s Club will have a wide selection of both trees and wreaths. Proceeds from tree sales will benefit the Club’s Charitable Ministries.
Location: 3016 Providence Road
2023 Season: Starts Black Friday, Nov. 24 (9am-8pm)
Pricing: Unconfirmed for 2023. Last year, 7-8 foot trees were $84-$96.
Tree varieties: Fraser fir
Dates/hours: 9am-8pm on weekends; 5-8pm on weekdays.
Almond Christmas Tree Farm
This Albemarle farm is just under an hour from Uptown and has both choose and cut and pre-cut options, plus decor like live wreaths.
Location: 20560 Biles Road, Albemarle
2023 Season: Starts Black Friday, Nov. 24 (9am-3pm or by appointment)
Pricing: Field-grown trees start at $55 for 5-6 feet.
- Pre-cut Fraser firs are $85 for 6-7 feet and $100 for 7-8 feet.
Tree varieties: Fraser fir, Carolina Sapphire, Green giant, Leyland cypress, Murray cypress, Virginia pine and white pine.
Days/hours: Thursdays and Fridays from 3-5pm, Saturdays from 9am-5pm and Sundays from 1-5pm.
Circle C Tree Farms
At this Boone family farm, you’ll pick out your tree and a staff member will cut, wrap and load it onto your vehicle.
Location: 372 Will Cook Road, Boone
2023 Season: Saturday, Nov. 11 to Sunday, Nov. 12; Friday, Nov. 17 to Sunday, Nov. 26
Pricing: A 7-8 foot tree ranges from $120-$140. Pre-cut trees begin at $20.
Tree varieties: Fraser fir
Dates/hours: The farm is open 9am-4:15pm every day.
C & J Christmas Trees
Trees range from table toppers to 11-footers at this choose-and-cut farm minutes from downtown Boone.
Location: 1999 Brookshire Road, Boone
2023 Season: Opening weekend is Saturday, Nov. 11 and Sunday, Nov. 12 from 9am-4pm.
Pricing: Tables toppers are $25, a 7-foot tree is $98 and an 11-foot tree is $250.
Tree varieties: Fraser fir
Dates/hours: Saturday, Nov. 11 and Sunday, Nov. 12; Nov. 18-19; Nov. 22; Nov. 23 and Thanksgiving Day (9am-1pm); Nov. 24-26; Dec. 2-3 and Dec. 9-10.
- The farm is open 9am-4pm unless otherwise noted.

Appalachian Evergreens
Plan a day trip to this choose-and-cut farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains where you’ll find trees 10-plus feet. The farm also offers a mail-order option for table toppers, garlands and wreaths.
Location: 574 RC Cook Road, Blowing Rock, is the farm address listed on their website. Google Maps lists a different address of 1371 NC-194, Boone.
Pricing: Trees range from $60 for a 5-footer to $165 for a 10-footer.
Tree varieties: Fraser fir
Days/hours: Nov. 18-Nov. 19; Nov. 24-Nov. 26.
