Overview:
Participates in planning, organizing, directing, and facilitating operations for the Stanly Manor skilled nursing facility in Albemarle, NC. Provides leadership ensuring the mission, vision, and values of the organization are supported through the actions of the organization. Supervises staff members.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinates the strategic planning process of the community including reviewing program policies and procedures and making recommendations for change.
• Ensures that all quality improvement measurement issues are addressed and that appropriate follow up is taken to assure quality outcomes.
• Assures the hiring, orientation, training, cross-training, and evaluation of all staff is adequate to support quality outcomes.
• Offers guidance and direction as needed and requested in area of professional expertise.
• Guides the development of fiscal policies and procedures, ensures preparation of the annual operating budget and other financial records and reports.
• Mentors and guides the development of all personnel management policies and practices.
• Fosters collaboration, consensus, and negotiation to assist in problem-solving.
• Maintains cooperative relationships with regulatory officials, media representatives, and local organizations.
Physical Requirements
• Must have good oral and written communication skills. Requires full range of body motion including bending, stooping, prolonged sitting, and walking. Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in Health Care Administration, Nursing Administration, Gerontology, or Business Administration preferred.
• Postgraduate training and professional certification as a health care administrator is required.
• Must meet regulatory requirements for licensure as nursing home administrator in home state.
• Specialized training or experience in geriatric social work, gerontology, or other long-term care health profession is desired.
• Three to five years on the job experience as administrator of skilled health care facility or retirement facility is preferred.
• Must have demonstrated leadership qualities, supervisory skills, interpersonal relationship skills, practical business and accounting knowledge, and knowledge of federal and state regulations governing employment and administration.
• Commitment to person-centered and resident directed care is essential.
• CNA Certification: Recommended for this position. Will comply with all federal and state regulatory requirements to maintain licensure as health care administrator and, if applicable, certification as CNA.
