Another multi-million-dollar Lake Norman mansion has hit the market. With a home theater, custom pet room, elevator, and an infinity edge pool, it’s asking $6.8 million.
Lakeside luxury market boom: With many people working from home indefinitely and unable to travel, luxury real estate in the Lake Norman area has seen a huge surge, according to reports by Ivester Jackson Distinctive Properties.
Earlier this week the real estate group released figures from the third quarter which show closings in the luxury range (over $1 million) nearly doubled from 2019 to 2020. In Q3 2019 there were 120 luxury residential real estate closings in the Lake Norman area. In 2020 there were 230 during that same period.
Cornelius and Mooresville were especially hot with many sales over $2 million. For Cornelius specifically, where 16700 Tinker Place is location, 40 homes closed for over $1 million, compared to 15 in last year’s Q3.
(You might remember a certain record-setting all-cash sale we wrote about earlier this month.)
The exact address of the $6.8M Cornelius home is 16700 Tinker Place. At 11,672 square feet, it’s got 7 beds and 8.5 baths.
Tracy Davis at Ivester Jackson has the listing.
The custom home was built by JMR Construction, LLC in 2014. The brown stone exterior is softened by the interior, which is clad in various shades of sea foam and blue, copper, and natural wood tones. Despite the home’s grandeur, it feels like a playful family home with plenty of room for entertaining.
Kitchen: The kitchen is one of the most impressive rooms in the house, starting with the pitched ceiling adorned by significant architectural detail. With two islands (one for working, one for sitting), open shelving, a French door glass-front fridge, and a separate baking area, the kitchen has a real culinary feel.
Cool features: The house was built with gathering and play in mind. It’s got a drive-in themed home theater with a snack bar, popcorn machine, and pickup truck bed stuffed with pillows; playrooms; and an indoor slide. There’s also a pet room with several custom built-in kennels.
Outdoor setup: The infinity glass-edge pool has private views of Lake Norman and is surrounded by expansive lounge areas. There’s a double-decker terrace with outdoor living and dining areas, a sunken fire pit, an in-ground trampoline, and a covered, private pier and boat lift.
Here’s a look around.
