The Agenda Weekender is proudly presented by Charlotte Motor Speedway. Miss racing? There are two ways to get in some high-speed action next weekend:

  • In-person: Next Saturday, October 10 snag tickets for a double-header race day at the Speedway, including the Drive for the Cure 250 and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT classes. The first race starts at 3:30 p.m. and tickets are $50 for adults (and free for kids). Details.
  • At home: The main weekend event, the Bank of America ROVAL 400, is happening Sunday, October 11 and even though it’s already sold out, you can tune in to NBC at 2:30 p.m. to watch the race.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2

U-Pick Pumpkins at Cotton Hill Farms: Go pumpkin picking on the largest pumpkin farm in South Carolina. U-Pick will be offered every weekend through October 10. Prices vary. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Details.

Gallery Crawl at Dilworth Artisan Station: Support local artists and a good cause. Several artists will be selling mini 8″x 8″ paintings with a dog theme, and a portion of the proceeds will go to a local animal shelter. Masks and social distancing required. Free. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Details.

Edit Charlotte Pre-Loved Clothing Sale at 2041 South Boulevard, Suite 108: Shop gently used designer items at the EDIT Charlotte fall/winter sale happening through Saturday. Find pieces by Balenciaga, Golden Goose, Givenchy, and Celine among others. Free to attend. 4-8 p.m. Details.

Mad About Modern Online Home Tour: Calling all architecture lovers. This is your last weekend to take a tour of the city’s coolest modern and mid-century homes, virtually. $20+. Now through Oct 4, 6 p.m. Details.

Ballantyne Drive-In Movie Series: The BFG at Cullman Park Building Parking Lot: A new Ballantyne drive-in movie series will have its first screening of The Big Friendly Giant. There will be music, and food from the Maki Taco food truck, and other activities starting at 6 p.m. The movie begins at 7:30 p.m. $30 per vehicle. 6-9:30 p.m. Details.

Haunted History Tour at Historic Rosedale: If you’re interested in the supernatural, the Historic Rosedale Haunted History Tours are back. Take a guided tour of the gardens and grounds surrounding the historic 1815 house and reconstructed blacksmith shop. Masks are required and tours are limited to 20 people to allow for social distancing. $20. 7-8 p.m. Details.

JUSTICE exhibition online premiere by SouthEnd ARTS: SouthEnd ARTS presents JUSTICE, the first in a series of virtual art gallery exhibitions. The premiere will feature a diverse cast of creators and artists, including Tommie Robinson, one of Charlotte’s most influential Black artists. Free. 7 p.m. Details.

The Haunted Trail at “Scarrigan” Farms: Grab your face mask (spooky or not) and prepare to be scared. In October, Carrigan Farms is transformed into the scariest haunted trail in the region. Not recommended for children under 12 and face masks are required. $30 per person. 7:30-9:30 p.m. Details.

Hopebuilders Virtual 5K: Now in its 25th year, the Hopebuilders 5k event is going virtual for 2020. This year’s theme, “25 Days of Hope”, is all about building hope for patients of Levine Children’s Hospital.  Show your support by sharing a Levine Children’s story on social media, building a personal or team fundraising page, or taking part in the virtual 5K and celebration car-parade. $25 to register. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3

Macrame with Alpacas at Good Karma Ranch: Learn how to create your very own macrame wall hanging while hanging out with the alpacas at Good Karma Ranch. Amber King Bounds of Little King Art will show you 4 basic macrame knots and 2 design patterns to get you started in the art of macrame. No experience necessary. Oktober Family Fest at Atrium Health Ballpark: Head out to the brand new Atrium Health Ballpark in downtown Kannapolis to enjoy beer and food specials, local vendors, and pumpkin activities at the Oktober Family Fest. Masks are required. Free. 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Details.

Reece Boutique Mean Girls Movie Event at 721 Gov Morrison St.: Reece Boutique is partnering with bridal hairstylist, Savannah Rogers (@something_braided) to create a pop-up event that is so fetch. The whole store will be 25 percent off and the first 100 customers will get a custom-made Mean Girls cookie. Free. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Details.

Pumpking Fest 2020 at Brewers at 4001 Yancey: Brewers at 4001 Yancey are rolling out the entire Pumking beer family plus their Pumking Whiskey. Festivities include live music, specialty cocktails, and other drinks (like milkshakes and slushies), along with special menu items. Free to attend. 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Details.

2020 CLT DJ Battle Finals, Online: Tune in on Zoom for a showdown between six of Charlotte’s top DJs. This year’s finalists will go head to head with reigning 2019 CLT DJ Battle champion DOMii for a chance to win the crown. The winner will receive up to $1,000 in cash and prizes. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 4

Counterculture Club Outdoor Yoga at Camp North End: Head to the Boileryard at Camp North End for an outdoor vinyasa flow with certified yoga instructor Missi Rossi. This socially distanced class is for yogis of all levels. Bring a mat, towels, and any props you may need. Hand sanitizer and water will be provided. $10. 10-11 a.m. Details.

Game Day at The Yard: Cheer on the Carolina Panthers as they take on the Arizona Cardinals. This watch party will feature a massive LED screen, music from Queen City favorite DOMii, and socially distant tables to allow for safe tailgating. Table-side food and beverage service will be provided by SouthBound. $15 per person. Noon to 7 p.m. Details.

Bold Music’s Virtual Gig Night Live from Heist Brewery: Grab take-out from Heist Brewery and tune in to Bold Music’s YouTube channel for an evening of music and fun. These budding musicians will be performing live from Heist Brewery in NoDa for a special, virtual edition of their traditional Gig Night showcase. 5 p.m. Details
