The Marketing Manager at the U.S. National Whitewater Center (Whitewater) manages the communication of the Whitewater brand across a variety of platforms and functions. This position plays an integral role in strategic brand planning and the execution of marketing deliverables. Balancing project management with broad-reaching communication initiatives, this position will provide sourcing, planning, management, distribution, execution, and analysis of Whitewater’s various marketing campaigns. The Marketing Manager reports to the Brand Director.

Development, research, and analysis
• Progressively develop an ongoing and intimate knowledge of the outdoor industry and culture to ensure that all marketing efforts are aligned with the outdoor lifestyle and the Whitewater brand
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Whitewater brand, products, and services
• Proactively research and analyze opportunities for brand awareness across a variety of platforms to engage the organization’s target markets
• Create trackable and data-driven recaps and reports for all marketing efforts
• Gather, analyze, and create reports on consumer behavior data as well as marketing and sales metrics
• Source, analyze, and recommend effective marketing opportunities across a variety of mediums to promote Whitewater’s programming, products, and services
• Assist in the planning and execution of marketing deliverables to ensure on-time execution and alignment with brand standards
• Drive the development, creation, and revision of various media assets used within all marketing campaigns
• Coordinate and execute various distribution efforts for Whitewater’s marketing collateral materials
• Assist in research, copywriting, proofreading, and editing of written content
Digital Asset Management
• Collaborate within the organization to continually produce inspiring and relevant digital content to be used within a variety of campaigns
• Update, maintain, and advance Whitewater’s webpages, social media, e-commerce, and other digital platforms, including content creation and general management
• Perform continuous analysis on Whitewater’s audience, acquisitions, referrals, behavior, etc. across all digital and non-digital platforms
• Develop and manage organic and paid SEO/SEM strategies for Whitewater’s websites
• Develop and implement comprehensive e-mail campaigns to Whitewater constituents
• Strategically plan, execute, and analyze the monthly social media calendar to align with Whitewater’s overarching goals and objectives and continually engage with Whitewater’s community of followers
• Proactively research digital marketing trends across a variety of platforms to stay current and ahead of industry standards


• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related discipline
• MBA strongly preferred
• 6+ years of relevant experience in the marketing field with a managerial background preferred
• A strategic, critical thinker and creative problem solver
• Intellectual curiosity and an analytical mindset
• Efficient and effective communication skills both internally and externally
• Team player with flexibility in schedule for varied workweeks and programming coverage – nights, weekends, and holidays are required
• Knowledge of social media platforms, HTML, CSS, WordPress, and the Adobe Creative Suite strongly preferred
