Remote office in South Charlotte
CEO of All In PR
I commute by car and it takes approximately 20-25 minutes.
iPhone 6s, apple with fireworks exploding over a peace sign as my background.
Phone homescreen photo:
My homescreen is DREAMS + WORK = SUCCESS because dreams don’t work unless you do. I have way too many apps (LOL), but I keep them very organized.
The pictures on the wall are of the student athletes in my father’s non-profit Always Believe MB1 program, which I help organize. They made it to nationals, which was a huge deal! Also, another picture in the background is from a community service project MB1 performed in Reid Park by planting trees and sorting books in the media room.
Most of my work is done on an iMac and or my Surface 2.
Gadgets you can’t live without:
I can not live without my cell phone, my blender because I love a good smoothie or having On Demand (live saver when you’re trying to catch up on favorite shows).
Do you listen to music while you work?
I love listening to music while I work; usually via Spotify and I make my own playlist with a mix of everything from country, techno, rap and top 40s.
What software are you a power user of?
Cisionpoint the Vocus PR Suite, one of the most useful tools in the communications industry providing thousands of contacts in the media world and editorial calendars.
What’s your favorite spot for a business lunch? Your order?
Just Fresh is one of my favorite business lunch spots and I always get the ‘California Dreamer’ wrap – delicious lean beef with artichoke parmesan spread, lettuce and spinach with yummy BBQ chips.
Social media habits:
Instagram, Facebook and Google+ daily. I’m trying to get more active on Twitter but I’m a huge fan of Instagram.
To-do list manager:
I’m old school, so I use a planner and Google calendar.
What everyday thing are you really good at?
Multi-tasking and keeping projects/communication flowing internally at All In PR. Focusing on consistently producing quality, result driven and a personal experience for each client.
Best time-saving shortcut or Charlotte life hack:
I’ve found in Charlotte that yellow stop lights do not mean yield, but rather speed up and catch it. As a native I also try to shave some and can say I’m guilty as well. And Hootsuite is a time saver for managing and tracking social media campaigns.
My friends and family make fun of me because I cherish my sleep and will go to bed a bit early sometimes. I try to get an average of 7 hours, so down around 11 pm up by 6 am.
Where do you go around Charlotte to get away from the office?
When the weather is nice I like going to the park, Freedom Park is one of my favorite spots.
What did you eat for breakfast this morning?
A huge chocolate banana smoothie.
What’s the last book you read and why?
Never Eat Alone by Keith Ferrazzi with Tahl Raz because it was recommended by a PR colleague. The book definitely helps you learn different techniques for networking and cultivating genuine relationships.
If you weren’t doing your current job, what would you be doing?
If I wasn’t a publicist I would either be traveling the country as a DJ or working as an architect; doing anything that is high energy, innovating and connecting with all types of people.
