Overview:
The Software Engineering Manager is responsible for managing products and services, increasing productivity of the team, and solving issues while reporting to the Director of Software Develoment for the OvrC platform. This role requires exceptional problem-solving skills for both people and technology issues. In this role the candidate needs to be a great communicator, have the ability to explaining complex problems to individuals at all levels and positions within an organization. This role requires deep technical knowledge and understanding of business goals to be successful. The Software Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing the development staff on the OvrC application while collaborating with cloud infrastructure support and the UI team to ensure the platform maintains constant uptime and scalablity.

Responsibilities:
• Manages a team of software developers and the of day-to-day development roadmap for OvrC
• Managing and maitaining server applications and APIs for OvrC
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams of developers, operations, business partners and outside vendors
• Research and strategize emerging technologies for potential use on the OvrC platform
• Analyze industry trends and probable outcomes while assessing the impact to our technology landscape
• Drive overall software quality standards
• Work with staff members to mentor and increase their effectiveness and career growth

Qualifications:
• 5+ years experience software platforms and/or applications
• Experienced in leading and managing a team of software development professionals
• Experience with strongly-typed, C-based languages, e.g. C#, Java, Go
• Experienced in IoT scalable applications
• Experience working with non-relational databases such as MongoDb
• Knowledge of source code management systems
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Google Go (golang) or strong desire to learn
• Experience developing for a distributed server environment
• Excellect organizational skills and experienced in SLDC
• Deep understanding of agile software project management
• Expereience with JIRA or Agile toolsets
