The Tryon-facing side of the Skyhouse site uptown is now under contract for development, according to a real estate source. Heath Knott with Ligon CRE is marketing the project.

Not much is known other than the tentative plan is to incorporate retail, condos, a hotel and office space. It is likely that Publix will be an anchor to the ground-floor retail. Developers have long wanted a grocer on the site, and Publix has confirmed it’s interested in uptown. [See the Agenda’s guide to the Skyhouse development]

We’re hearing that the Publix will be the smaller “urban” format.

Incorporating all these mixed-uses is brilliant and will surely breathe new life into this area of Uptown. Very happy to see the word “condos” instead of “apartments.” The design looks really solid, and I can’t wait to hear more.

I will bring more as this story develops, but this is fantastic news for North Tryon Street. Stay tuned.

*Note: these plans and designs are tentative/planned and in no way set in stone. I am hopeful however, that the project develops with all these mixes of uses and this design.
