New York Butcher Shoppe is now open in Dilworth near Ru San’s.

Co-owner Antonio Tillery describes the business as an “old-school” butcher shop.

“Charlotte options have been limited to big box grocery stores until now. We will be able to offer the best possible meats and sausages while creating relationships with our customers,” Tillery told the Agenda.

Tillery was born in Alaska and his father was a butcher in Ketchikan for a local shop.

“The best way to get your meat for the family dinner was to go down to the butcher and hand select exactly what you are looking for,” Tillery added.

New York Butcher Shoppe is a mini-chain with 13 locations in the Southeast. This location is owned by Antonio Tillery, former executive chef and regional director of Maggiano’s Little Italy, and Brian Miller, the former general manager and managing partner of Maggiano’s. The two helped open Maggiano’s in SouthPark 16 years ago.

Beef selections: Porterhouse, ribeye, ground sirloin/filet (fresh each day), New York strip, filet mignon, bacon wrapped filet, flank steak, beef brisket, filet tail and handmade hamburger patties.

Veal and lamb Selections: Veal chops, veal cutlets, lamb tenderloin, bacon wrapped lamb tenderloin, lamb loin and leg of lamb.
