I think I found the cheapest gym membership in Charlotte. Revolution Sports Academy on Remount Road is just $12/month or $3/day. I stopped in because I spotted the gorgeous eco-friendly L.E.E.D. certified building in passing and wanted to know what it was.
Turns out Revolution Sports Academy is a 30,000 square-foot “green” facility with recreational programming for all ages and a focus on life skills development for youth. There’s a small but sufficient gym with weights and cardio equipment, personal trainers on staff, group fitness classes and a golf course. It’s also home to the Charlotte Boxing Academy. The Rugby Athletic Center was your top pick for the new Food Truck Friday lot [Dunn/Agenda]. Andrew threw out seven possible replacements for the South End Food Truck Friday lot that will be in search of a new home as soon as early 2016. We took it to a vote and the Rugby Athletic Center was the clear winner. This doesn’t mean it’ll happen but we’ll continue to update you on this story as it evolves.
Alino Pizzeria expanding out of state. The Mooresville location has only been open since late March, but its owners are taking the concept to Fort Lawn, South Carolina and Jefferson, Georgia. Read our review of the restaurant.
Site-to-store pickup lockers installed at Lowe’s in South End [Peralta/Observer]. Customers can shop online and pick their items up in the lockers 24/7, but the service is just a temporary test for now.

Queen City Forward’s ThinkPlenty Conference is next week [Queen City Forward]. The two-day conference breaks participants into teams to rapidly build and prototype solutions to alleviate hunger and increase access to food in Charlotte. Tickets are $15 before Monday ($10 for students).
If you get a chance, drive by this memorial on East Boulevard or this one at Romare Bearden Park with a flag for each life lost on 9/11. Both are a sobering reminder of the weight this date carries 14 years later.
