Head to C3 Lab in South End tonight to see the UNC Charlotte Alumni Association’s annual alumni and student art exhibit, Spotlight. The exhibit is curated by a panel of alumni and features work from both UNC Charlotte alumni and students, and will be on display through June 24.

The exhibit will be open to the public starting at 6 p.m., as part of the South End Gallery Crawl.

About the curators:

Sharon Dowell ’02 is an alumna of UNC Charlotte’s College of Arts + Architecture, and her work “captures the energy of place and explores the theme of man vs. nature.” She also focuses on public art, and you can find her public murals installed on the Lynx Blue Line and throughout the city.

Justin Driscoll ’09 graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing, and his photography has been featured in international magazines and national advertising campaigns.

You can see their full bios here.

What else to expect:

UNC Charlotte alum Scott Wooten of 704 Shop will be DJing during the opening event.

In addition to the artwork on display, look out for John Hairston Jr. ’03 who will be creating a piece during a live art performance.

There will also be a special interactive element, in which you’ll have the opportunity to create #CharlotteStrong messages to support the UNC Charlotte community and those directly affected by the April 30 tragedy.
