Nakamura-ke Mobile Kitchen, a glow-in-the-dark food and cocktail pop up, is coming to Charlotte in May. The 30-minute experience costs $100 per person and reservations are now available.

This glow-in-the-dark, 6 seat ramen shop describes itself as “an unprecedented, immersive dining experience showcasing high-end glow-in-the-dark food & drink, folklore, and storytelling, created by award-winning chefs & designers.”

The concept started in Atlanta and Charlotte is Nakamura-ke’s first stop on a global tour that will likely include New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo.

How it works: The space seats 6 people and the experience lasts 30 minutes. You’re supposed to get there 15 minutes prior to the reservation. It’s slightly mysterious, but for $100, it better be cool — and it must be considering it was frequently sold out in Atlanta (thus, the global tour).

Space: The dining experience is hosted in a shipping container. “It is like being teleported to a traditional ramen restaurant in Tokyo,” Nakamura.ke told the Agenda.

Tickets: Now available to the public and you can purchase them here. When you purchase a ticket, you have to select a date and time — remember, the kitchen only seats 6 people, so that’s the max you can purchase by time slot. The $100 includes tip, and if you want even more drinks, they’ll be available for purchase once inside. Nakamura-ke will offer 8 nights of service: May 10 through May 19 with 7 time slots per night (beginning every 45 minutes) 5:30, 6:15, 7:00, 7:45, 8:30, 9:15 and 10:00 p.m.

Location: It’ll be just outside of Uptown at Camp North End (1824 Statesville Avenue, Charlotte, NC) and coincides with the development’s End to End Festival.

Menu: It’s developed by London’s Bompas & Parr and all items are made with natural ingredients and prepared on site. Food and cocktails are made with a lumen aspect that they say “heightens the senses.” There will be gluten-free, vegetarian and non-alcoholic options available as well.

When you buy your tickets, you’ll make your ramen and cocktail selections.

Ramen options:

  • Yasai Miso (the meatless Miso) – Pumpkin Tare, Seaweed, Shiitake Broth, Peach Lumen Noodles, WhiteTruffle Butter, Pak Choi, Crispy Shallot, Nori Seaweed, 3 Hour Poached Duck Eggs
