Real estate development group Revolve Residential released plans for its newest project, Atlas Urban Homes, in NoDa — and construction has begun. Expect 14 mid-century modern townhouse-inspired homes starting at $579,000 with low-maintenance yards.

What it is: The idea behind the project is to offer homebuyers a single-family house without the same level of upkeep — picture a townhome and single-family house hybrid. The homes will be three stories with small manicured fenced-in front yards. Your pets and kids will have a safe place to play outside, but you don’t have to worry about lawn care. Expect all units to be around 2,300 square feet with three bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, two-car garages and private balconies.

From the developer: “We’ve designed this community for residents who want a beautiful new home and don’t want to spend their weekends doing yardwork,” Tim McCollum, president of Revolve Residential, said in a press release. “Atlas Urban Homes combines the lock-and-leave lifestyle of a townhome with the privacy of a single-family home, all located in one of Charlotte’s most fun, unique and desirable neighborhoods.”

Price: Not all units have been put on the market yet, but for now, the ones available are listed between $579,700-$608,900.

Floor plans: There are four options — depending upon which lot you choose — including The Legend, The Meridian, The Navigator and The Polaris.

The Legend: This plan is for corner lots, and it’s 2,250 square feet with three beds, three and a half baths. Cool features include a wrap-around porch, slide glass doors opening up to the balcony and a sweet master bath with a Jacuzzi soaking tub and “a zero entry shower.”

The Meridian: Designed specifically for the interior lots, it’s 2,229 square feet with three beds, three and a half baths. This plan includes oversized windows and a “full-width balcony.” Cool features include an oversized walk-in shower in the master bath, breakfast nook and accent walls in the living room and master bath.

The Navigator: This is the largest plan at 2,304 square feet with three beds, three and a half baths.. It’s similar to the Meridian, but it also has a breakfast bay off the kitchen and a little nook in the living area (playroom option, bar cart storage, etc.).

The Polaris: Another corner option, it’s 2,279 square feet with three beds, three and a half baths. It’s very similar to The Legend.

Customization: As far as finishes go, every unit starts with the same basics: brick and wood shake exteriors; metal balconies with wood decking; modern solid wood kitchen cabinetry; dine-in islands; quartz countertops; and oversized master bedroom windows and large walk-in closets. From there, you can choose from three different design packages which include various upgrades on paint, tile work, flooring, etc.

Location: It’s in NoDa, four blocks from North Davidson Street where a brick office building used to be. Charles Avenue, Whiting Avenue, Spencer Street and Clemson Avenue border the site.

Community details: You’re walking distance from breweries and restaurants in the heart of NoDa, and if you want to get out of the neighborhood, the 36th Street light-rail station is nearby. Atlas Urban Homes amenities include a green space/picnic area and cornhole courts.

Who’s bringing it to life: According to a press release, “Atlas Urban Homes was designed by 505 Design and will be built by Ethic LLC. Landscape architecture was designed by LandDesign and construction documents are being done by ALB Architecture.” It’s cool because they’re all Charlotte companies.
