Foxcroft Wine Co., recently voted the #1 wine bar in Charlotte by the Agenda’s 40,000 newsletter subscribers, will open a third Charlotte location at Waverly.

I’m a huge Foxcroft Wine Co. fan, and I’m excited for owner Conrad Hunter, who also is a co-owner in Charlotte’s top-rated cocktail bar Dot Dot Dot. The guy knows hospitality.

Foxcroft Wine Co. Waverly plans to open by September. The exact address is 7416 Waverly Walk Ave., Suite H-1. For those unfamiliar with Waverly, it’s a massive development in South Charlotte.

This will be Foxcroft Wine Co.’s fourth location. They currently have locations in SouthPark, Dilworth and a new spot in Greenville, SC.

Conrad is also targeting an expansion into Raleigh and Charleston within the next five years. “The key for me is keeping the FWC culture consistent from location to location,” Conrad told the Agenda. “There’s a real lack of hospitality and sense of service when I go out to eat or drink these days.”

Why Waverly: “It’s a somewhat untapped market,” said Conrad. “There are a lot of Gen Xers out there (including Weddington and Waxhaw) that don’t normally come into town and would prefer something closer to where they live. Plus, I can be there in about 15 minutes from my home.”

New grill: Unlike other locations, Foxcroft Wine Co. Waverly will add a charcoal grill (similar to those used in Spain) and debut new dishes with a wood-grill flavor. “My goal is to continue to push the food envelope at all locations while keeping our greatest hits,” said Conrad. I probably need to venture out but I always order Foxcroft’s popular truffle fries, burger and doughnuts (I know, I make unhealthy selections). It’s a perfect date spot and although many know Foxcroft as a spot to sip wine, the food is outstanding.

Other Foxcroft Wine Co. news: Executive chef Justin Solomon just added seven new dishes to the menu. New items include grilled local mushrooms, burrata, grilled Spanish octopus, steamed mussels, hamachi tartare, roasted chicken flatbread, hanger steak and roasted salmon.
