Just picture it. Clean white shelves filled with perfect rows of shoes. All of your clothes neatly hung where you can see them, coded by color or type. Soft close drawers with organizers for all of your jewelry, easily accessible and untangled. Shiny. Drawer. Pulls.

That’s the dream. A closet worthy of a celeb, and at a variety of price points that are totally approachable.

If you’re anything like me, your closet doesn’t look like this. Mine’s got a messy pile of shoes covering the floor, a Damp Rid in the corner and so many clothes I’m really testing the strength of the metal rod holding everything up.

The pros at California Closets can take living nightmares like mine and yours and turn them into literal dream closets.

They are closet angels sent from heaven.

Here’s how it all works.

You go in for a free consultation at their Dilworth showroom (or they’ll come right to your house).

I personally enjoyed visiting the showroom because you can see a lot of the options in one space. I was blown away by all the different materials and configurations.

Plus, I quickly learned California Closets does way more than just closets. They can design mudrooms, garages, pantries. You name it.

I probably wandered around the showroom for a good hour just gawking at drawer pulls and frosted glass doors. So soothing.

Then, they’ll team you up with one of their expert designers.

You’ll sit down with one of their design pros and talk about your project – all of their designers have Interior Design degrees and go through extensive initial and on-going training. Usually this first session is through an in-home consultation so they can look at the space and take measurements.

The consultation helps the designer get a feel for what you’re looking for and what would best fit your lifestyle.

“We work hand in hand with all of our clients to design a space that’s unique to them. We don’t have a ‘go to’ design for any closet,” says Morgan Haynie, Design Manager at California Closets.

After the initial consultation, your designer will create a super cool 3-D rendering of your new space.

This lets you visualize the new closet and make changes until the design is exactly what you want.

It also lets you switch out different materials so you can really see what certain choices will look like and make final decisions on finishes, organization solutions, etc.

This is the part where the designer will also bring up the different price options so you can choose what best fits your budget.

You can choose from a broad range of finishes, hardware and accessories to customize your closet.

I was super impressed by all the choices. And we’re not just talking about picking out some knobs.

They have customized lighting, different types of glass doors, drawer organization. You name it, they got options.

And not only do they offer something for every style, they can also cater to every type of budget. They even have financing options so you can dream even bigger.

Haynie recently worked on a project where she transformed a client’s third floor master bedroom into a massive dream closet.

Here’s the room before.

Haynie worked hand-in-hand with Linda Martinez, Styled Now! Founder + Stylist, to create the perfect space for their client.

“She travels a lot so we needed a way to showcase her pieces. She has a TON of really cool jewelry from her travels and hats, as well as decorative pieces so the space isn’t really just for clothing storage as it is a show piece for her favorite items, a ‘hideaway’ for herself,” says Haynie.

And the results are downright amazing.

The new closet features a large, back-painted glass top island. Four reading benches. Drawers filled with jewelry trays. Special lighting. Shelves to display hats and other decorative items.

California Closets’ attention to detail is evident in my client’s beautiful walk-in dream closet. More importantly it functions for her busy lifestyle,” Martinez says.

I love these cabinets for her necklaces.

“It’s not just your standard hanging and shelving closet, this is truly another room of the home,” says Haynie.

I would live in this closet.
