Bulla Gastrobar: Pick-two lunch special

Details: Pick a starter and an entree for $15.95 during lunch. The Half Cubano sandwich is a lunch favorite.

Calle Sol: Cafeteria-style lunch

The deal: One entrée and two sides from the hot bar for $8 from 11am to 2pm on weekdays

Craft: $6 cheese and charcuterie plates on Wednesdays

Details: The charcuterie includes olives and prosciutto while the cheese board has two local cheese varieties with fruit. Both come with locally baked bread.


Fun fact: Lincoln Street Kitchen & Cocktails is Craft’s sister restaurant.


The Crunkleton: Half-priced raw oysters on Mondays

Dinner: If you’re staying for dinner, go with their “A Really Good Burger” and finish up the meal with a warm cinnamon sticky bun for dessert.

Cocktail: Order “The Painkiller Cocktail” (rum base obviously) or the “A Dusty Cactus” to wash down the oysters.

Dilworth Tasting Room: Free small charcuterie plate with any wine flight on Tuesdays

Details: The wine flight includes three 2-ounce pours. $20 for white and $25 for red.

Duckworth’s: $11.99 large pizzas

The deal: Get a large pizza for $11.99 on Wednesdays (usually $15.99).

More deals: A half-pound dinner burger meal goes for $10.99 on Thursdays; $8.99 Carolina Bar-B-Que sandwiches on Fridays; Carolina Bar-B-Que platters go for $10.99 on Saturdays.

French Quarter: $10.75 baked chicken special on Thursdays

What’s included: Juicy baked chicken, homemade mashed potatoes, brown gravy and broccoli served with garlic bread and iced tea.

Fine print: All white meat is another 55 cents.


JJ’s Red Hots: $3 signature dogs on Tuesdays

Fine Print: The special is available after 3pm at JJ’s Dilworth location.

Selection: You can choose from all their hot dogs, including their signature dogs, dog-of-the-week and hall of fame hot dogs.

Order this: Go with their #1 most popular, The Char Heel, with house-made chili, slaw, diced onions and yellow mustard (normally $4.29).

Kid Cashew: Pick-two lunch special for $10.95 on weekdays

The fine print: From 11am to 3pm

Order this: The chicken sandwich and mac and cheese. It’s featured in our Mac & Cheese guide.

More deals: $6 martinis on Mondays; half-off wine bottles on Tuesdays; half-off whiskey, bourbon and scotch on Wednesdays; $6 craft cocktails on Thursdays; $3 Mimosas & $5 Bloody Marys on weekends.

O-Ku: Half-priced sushi rolls on Mondays and Wednesdays

Details: Sushi Happy Hour happens from 5-7pm every Monday and Wednesday.

What to order: Red Dragon Roll (normally $15) — Tempura shrimp, avocado, spicy crab mix, eel sauce and crunch. Their other two most popular rolls are the Salmon & Lemon Roll and the Rainbow Roll. Check out the full menu here.

Order this: We recommend the Friend Zone marg – made with tequila, agave, line juice, orange juice with a salted rim; and the Magic Mike (skinny margarita) — tequila, agave, lime juice, no salt.

Reid’s Fine Foods: Half-priced steakburger on Tuesdays

Details: It’s an 8-ounce steakburger made from filet mignon, sirloin and ribeye ground in-house from Reid’s award-winning butcher shop. You have the option to choose your cheese, two toppings and a side. The meal will run you $8 on Tuesdays (normally $16).

More specials: Half-off wines by the glass on Wednesdays.

The Roasting Company: $12.86 pot pie special on Wednesdays

Details: Order cooked or take and bake at home.

Sabor: $8 Three Amigos Burritos & a fountain drink on Mondays

More deals: They also have Taco Tuesdays where tacos autenticos and tacos americano range from $1.49-$2. On Thursdays, there are $6 mojitos and $8 arepa & empanada combos. And on Saturdays, they do $5 margaritas.

For the kids: Kids eat free on Wednesdays.

Sea Level: Oyster happy hour

Details: $1.50 house oysters. No minimums and no limits, Monday through Friday from 2-6pm.

Skrimp Shack: Whiting Wednesday special

The deal: Buy one whiting sandwich and get one half off.

More deals: Skrimp Shack also does a Taco Tuesday special where you get three “skrimp” tacos for the price of two. And on Thursdays when you order one Cat “Samwich” you get another for half off.

SouthBound: Margarita Mondays

The deal: $6 margs all day long.

More deals: It doesn’t stop there. SouthBound also does Taco & Tequila Tuesdays with $25 SouthBound ‘Rita pitchers, $10 horseshoe tequila flight, $5 hornitos tequila shots, $4 Pacifico pints and $3 Modelo cans.

Suffolk Punch: Select $3 taps on Thursdays and Sundays

Go with: A Patchwork Orange, a super tasty American IPA (5.7% abv).

Also: Stop in on Tuesdays for half-off select bottles of wine, and $8 craft drinks every Wednesday.

Did you know: In North Carolina, you can’t do “happy hour” specials, so restaurants and bars have to keep the same price for the entire day. So yes, it’s $3 beers all day on Thursdays and Sundays at Suffolk Punch.
