This guide was last updated on May 20, 2021 with details on RH Charlotte’s new wine bar.
The three-story, 50,000-square-foot furniture store and design gallery RH Charlotte is now open in SouthPark’s Phillips Place shopping center.
RH, formerly known as Restoration Hardware, has two stories dedicated to its luxury home furnishings and one story, the rooftop, for its restaurant and wine bar.
Background: If you’re unfamiliar with RH, it’s a home furnishings company out of California. The company has about 70 stores around the country, but only a handful of “design gallery” stores that also have a chic rooftop restaurant — and now Charlotte joins cities like New York and Los Angeles with a massive RH design gallery.
Neighborhood: RH Charlotte is a big deal for Phillips Place and for SouthPark, which before Friday didn’t have a rooftop restaurant. The Phillips Place development is also home to Taylor Richards & Conger, Brooks Brothers, Orvis, Paper Source, Upstream, a 10-screen Regal Cinemas movie theater, and more.
Hours: 10am-9pm daily.
Location: The exact location is 6903 Phillips Place Court (previously the site of Dean & Deluca).
RH Charlotte is more than a home furnishings store. It’ll be a destination in Charlotte.
“We know from the other cities that these RH Design Galleries tend to be a destination unto themselves, drawing visitors from a wider geographic area than the typical store,” says Johnny Harris of Lincoln Harris, which owns the Phillips Place development. “We think that’s going to be a great thing, not only for our other tenants at Phillips Place but for the area as a whole.”
First floor: The dramatic entrance has 14-foot ceilings and a central stairwell that leads up to second and third levels. On the first floor you’ll find RH interiors collection, along with numerous staged rooms to see the furnishings in action.
Second floor: The second level is home to RH modern, the store’s modern furnishings collection, as well as the interior design studio with professional services available for hire. On this floor, you’ll also find the rug showroom and fabrics for bed and bath linens, window treatments, and more.
Rooftop restaurant: The luxurious all-season dining room is like a greenhouse with windows as walls. A fountain sits in the center of the room with at least a dozen chandeliers hanging over marble tabletops. The restaurant is open all day with menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Breakfast/brunch: RH’s breakfast menu includes thick cut pork belly bacon, avocado toast, smoked salmon, and a scramble (with an optional add of black summer truffles).
Lunch/dinner: Each RH design gallery has the same food menu with entrées like a lobster roll, shaved ribeye, and truffled grilled cheese.
Drinks: RH Charlotte doesn’t have a full bar, but expect a long list of wines available by the glass or by the bottle. If you’re going for brunch, try RH’s bellini or mimosa. The restaurant also has beer, coffee, tea, juice, and soda available.
Wine bar: A new addition to the rooftop restaurant, starting May 21, guests can order wine directly from the bar and then sip as they stroll the rooftop’s garden patio.
Rooftop park: On both sides of RH’s restaurant are outdoor seating and garden areas that overlook the growing SouthPark neighborhood.
“SouthPark is already becoming more walkable and interconnected,” Harris says, “and having exciting offerings like RH Charlotte will enhance the entire neighborhood.”
